Thank you for the video, it’s interesting to reflect a little bit about contemporary tendencies:
Fluting think more dust
Where did you grow up? Your Italian pronunciation is beautifulllllll — my HS and college Italian teachers’ ears would flutter — but I definitely hear a hint of some other accent while you normally speak. It sounds like a medley of 3 or 4 influences. Italian has gotttt to be involved.. you obviously speak English, but American English? Do I dare say no? And I want to say French? I am such a lover of soaking up unique ways of speaking and I’ve always been very intrigued by the way you speak!
Side: I listened to the audiobook The Glass Castle yeeeears ago (one of my all-time favorite books) and it was read by the author herself who grew up allll over the United States and her accent was sooo unique. I’ve been super aware of tiny details in accents ever since haha

Having memories re my 1980’s fluted floor lamp; God, I loved that lamp. Don’t know what happened to it.

Really interesting. Lots of things aren’t for me, but that’s what’s fun. You are so right to consider longevity too. I’m so glad whoever renovated my kitchen in the early 2000’s put in non-offensive, black, granite and butcher block. It’s fine 20 years later and It will be fine for another 30 at least.
