Two-Day Transformation: Coastal + Traditional (with Functional Flow!)

This transformation is all about flow and function. The space was BEAUTIFUL, but didn’t feel functional for our client and her family! See how we made it comfortable, while honoring their coastal and traditional style.

I feel so sad for all these wealthy people because” their big home with all theses expensive furniture needed an emotional makeover cuz they can’t play card the right way ” wooo hoo I rather watch a makeover to a family in need! A single mom that cant afford a new makeover. Watch RETURNING THE FAVOR in Facebook or the guy that use to say “welcome home family, welcome home, Extreme make over” move that bus!

I would love to know where the curtains came from. I looked on the "shop" link and I don’t see any window treatments 🤔.

  9. Mosaic Style w/ Michael Monreaux on August 15, 2021 at 10:15 pm

The before looks good the main problem truly was the dining and living areas where basically two different designs. It didn’t flow together with the open layout

Muy bonito , pero la propuesta para casi todo lo que hace es lo mismo

Heeey… how big is the space?? To have some reference to mine as I have an open living dining space as well and loved your design

  15. Diana McCafferty on August 15, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Can you tell me where you got the modern candle stick chandelier?

  23. Jeff Manning on August 15, 2021 at 10:28 pm

    Wonderful work

  24. rae bean on August 15, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Wow it looks fantastic! Way way better. Who wouldve thought that going darker in the dining area would actually make it flow better. Like you’re eye glides over it now from her kitchen bench as opposed to before. The chandelier was a great choice!

I believe the room needed furniture arrangement with additional accessories. She already had a good furniture and set the beach environment. Just a little tweaking would save the environment and her wallet.

You call four empty frames “artwork”?

  27. Duncan Paul on August 15, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    10/10 beautiful 😍❤

  28. Lynn Nelson on August 15, 2021 at 10:31 pm

A family of 5, probably means 3 kids. Then they bring their friends over wearing blue jeans and the white wouldn’t be for long, you think? But, hey, love the transformation.

When you’re well off and don’t wanna give your money away, but have to spend.. just remodel your home to look exactly how it looked b4 😅

  31. Mosaic Style w/ Michael Monreaux on August 15, 2021 at 10:36 pm

I been wanting to play with picture lighting in my space. I saw some inexpensive plug ins on Amazon

  32. Cassy on August 15, 2021 at 10:36 pm

The big trick is to tweak the decor with functionality. It is often beautiful to look at, but in everyday life it is not functional! Or it has a lot of functionality and a little glamour.

  33. Deborah Unger on August 15, 2021 at 10:38 pm

I see those leather chairs and I immediately think backache.

  36. Patricia Burgess on August 15, 2021 at 10:45 pm

Why are people so phobic of colour? Get creative! I once gutted a kitchen to create a country kitchen using burnt orange paint on some walls and incredible dark green grey black swirly granite countertops with a black sink. Natural gum tree hardwood floor. Result – great and vibrant! Use colour. In my most recent bedroom I used Endless Dusk (medium grey) with white trim and wallpaper on a wall with slightly raised sparkly dandelion pattern and a shiny silver bedspread. Result – sophisticated and restful.

  39. Nik Nabeelah on August 15, 2021 at 10:50 pm

I wonder what happened to the furniture and artworks removed. If the owner get any compensation for it. They coild just reuse the big arwork on the wall rather than the 4 pieces blank frames.

  40. Trish Sinclair on August 15, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Wonder what became of their previous furniture?

New to your makeovers . Love everything , you make it easy for us watching to duplicate our home , except they requested having workout clothes in the dining room cabinet. Wouldn’t they get ready in the bedroom .🇦🇺
