I love the ‘just do it’ attitude. I too would appreciate the large windows, but I do think at some point she will change her mind on insulation. But then, ‘baby steps’. Thank you for sharing .

Love Cheryl’s set up with the high top. I have a question for her: Being a passenger van, did the ceiling have AC ducts running through the headliner? Also, I understand that you are required to remove the headliner prior to having the high top installed.

I ask because I also have a twelve passenger van and was planning, Fiberine quote and all, to drive from Maryland to Fiberine to do the install. I became somewhat discouraged when I was told I had to remove the headliner, as I became intimated with having to remove it while considering the AC duct work running behind the headliner. I was curious if you had a similar situation and how you handled it.😊

  25. Just Terry on July 17, 2023 at 3:13 pm

I love her idea of leaving the top open when covering windows and use of static cling vinyl for privacy. Looked it up and there are decorative ones availble as well.

  26. Elaine Martin on July 17, 2023 at 3:14 pm

Nice set up! I highly suggest a solar shower, it’s much more convenient.

  33. Karen Kelly on July 17, 2023 at 3:23 pm

Cheryl’s a great inspiration. I wouldn’t even know where do start to do it myself. Do you hire someone to take seats out of the van? Are there people/ services who do that?

  34. San Massara on July 17, 2023 at 3:24 pm

Nice job and she seems like a fun person to hang out with.

    Yes, wise lady,
I put on a sofa instead of a bed to sit on a long day.

  37. Matthew Swickard on July 17, 2023 at 3:31 pm

I have a (likely dumb) couple of questions for anyone that can help. With vans like this, when you add the high top:
    1. Can you still add a roof rack or something to have solar panels on the roof? or is it too tall if that is added?
    2. How do you insulate the top inside? Or does someplace like Fiberine do that too? or is it needed?
Thanks to anyone that can provide some insight:)
