Unlimited RV Internet and WiFi for VAN LIFE | 2020 Update

Unlimited RV Internet and WiFi for VAN LIFE | 2020 Update

In this episode we take you through out internet set-up for full time van life. As digital nomads living in an RV full-time, we need consistent and strong WiFi. Here are our top pics:

UPDATE: Our sim card through ezcom still works great. However, the customer service from them hasn’t been the best. To put it simply, the owner has been rude to us and to some of our subscribers who have used ezcom too. We’re going to continue to recommend ezcom because it works and it’s a good price for unlimited, unthrottled internet. Just be aware that they can be difficult to work with.

Hey, we’re Chad and Paul. We lived a pretty typical life up until a few years ago. Chad was a speech-language pathologist and Paul was an attorney. We worked in New York City and by all means were set. But we didn’t feel settled. We wanted something different. We started a bunch of online businesses, quit our 9-5’s and now we live an unconventional life in our van (a 21′ Winnebago Travato). Follow along with us on our journey.

How have you found ezcom? Is the service reliable? I’ve had issues with other resellers, looking for a good one.

would any of these work for a remote wfh agent? I take calls all day for roughly 10hrs and the tmobile device looks like the only thing I can plug an Ethernet cable in for my laptop Iโ€™m just kind of unsure how all of this works…

  12. GraysFrame on May 17, 2021 at 3:51 am

You are way over paying for your hotspot. I’m a verizon account manager. Go to a cellular sales location and find an account manager. They will fix you up with unlimited hotspot for less than $35 a month. And have your phone lines moved over to that same business account. It may throttle depending on what plan you get on but with the amount you will be saving you can easily get another hotspot and still have some money left over!

Please everyone, use a VPN when you’re on public Wi-Fi.

Hey Paul and Chad love the channel I contacted ezcom.us and ordered the t-mobile service/router combo and I would like to share my experience. I ordered from them it showed up yesterday and I plugged it in today and connected my phone, did A internet speed test I was in a hurry (had to go back to the hospital due to having a baby) so I left it at that for today. I contacted customer support chat just like I did when I ordered. I had all assumptions that i was doing something wrong on my end and wanted suggestions on making things better. I was met by Jessie and maybe he was having a bad day or something but he was very rude and condescending to me. I even mentioned this to him and his response was if you deal with customers you understand how frustrating it is. To me this is unacceptable that I was met with this kind of treatment especially on day 1 of service.

I have the MOFI router with AT&T SIM card. AT&T canceled my unlimited plan and now donโ€™t offer unlimited. Any recommendations?

Hi there! Can you use a Visible SIM card in the AT&T hotspot? Also, any idea if the flat panel antenna can be connected to the MOFI router? Thank you!!!

  22. Aaron Bailey on May 17, 2021 at 4:04 am

You guys are about to have your lives changed with fast sat internet available anywhere. Get on Starlinkโ€™s beta list now. $500 equipment purchase and $100 gets you cable speeds anywhere you go.

  23. Diana Avalos on May 17, 2021 at 4:09 am

Thanks Paul! This was helpful. I currently work from my van and I have Weboost and a Verizon hot spot, and Tmobile cell. Right now I only use Tmobile, Verizon didn’t activate my hot spot in October for some reason but it will be on on the 15th of this month. Im in Sedona Arizona and it seems my Weboost doesn’t really work well. Its been difficult getting cell service especially when I’m away from town.
Do you struggle to get service in different areas, does this happen to you alot or just sometimes?
I love seeing you guys adventures, gives me confidence to travel around too. Thanks for your fun videos too.

  26. acobster on May 17, 2021 at 4:11 am

How many Mb/s do you get on the different systems? This is a really important stat and I’m surprised more videos about van wifi don’t mention it.

  28. Martha Manigross on May 17, 2021 at 4:15 am

    T-Mobile only 15 gb

  30. gilbert amthor on May 17, 2021 at 4:18 am

So why did you two get the K instead of the G. You sleep in sep beds? We have been married 16 yr and have never slept in sep bed EVER. That why we bought the G. Thank u for reviewing the wifi and phone boosters. We need neither but it was interesting. I just use my ipad for entertainment, we have never ever taken the plastic off the face of our TV. We r going full time for 2022 and enjoy learning from you two.๐Ÿ‘โœŒ๏ธ

NEW SUBSCRIBER!!! Hi guys!! I’ve heard about you so much from Kevin (30 And A Wake Up) and I just happened to be looking up videos on how to get internet on the road and look who I see!! YOU!!! LOL. My daughter and I plan to be on the road THIS year and it is really exciting for us. We are moving into an apartment for now (instead of the house we currently live in) and I thought: Why get internet at the apartment AND pay for internet on the road? Why not just get something that you can use in BOTH places??? So……off I went to research. LOL. I’ve heard so much about you guys that I feel like I already know you. So why not subscribe? SO I DID!!!! LOL. PEACE, JOY, AND ADVENTUROUS LIVING!!

  37. Pedro Bastos on May 17, 2021 at 4:31 am

About net gear unlimited for 20 months

  38. M P on May 17, 2021 at 4:31 am

I like the way Orlando rocks that heavy harness. Is that to secure them when you are driving? Or are they into leather? Iโ€™m not being judgy.

Great video!! I’m a brand new RVer and work remotely so my #1 priority has to be reliable internet. Your video was VERY helpful!! New subscriber here!!

  41. Linda Valiquette on May 17, 2021 at 4:32 am

Paul, you did a great job of "dumbing down" the nerd stuff for the rest of us so if you want another job for van life you could always write one of those books for dummies & start the first edition of Wi-fi for the RV Life (Bet there’s a market!!)

  42. Michael Walden on May 17, 2021 at 4:32 am

Where are the links to these items? Thanks for the information.

  43. Scott Bonney on May 17, 2021 at 4:32 am

Didn’t you guys used to have Visible Mobile? For $25 a month and running off verizon network, you can’t beat it. I use it as my primary internet source in my Winnebago Boldt. Plus there’s a workaround for the 5mbps cap ๐Ÿ˜‰

  44. Dan Baran on May 17, 2021 at 4:33 am

Looking for a better internet option as I go full time in the van in 2021. Curious why you decided to go with ecom over other third party resellers? They seem more expensive but also seem more legit than others. Were there others that you considered or researched extensively? Many thanks, great vid.

  45. ericmed on May 17, 2021 at 4:33 am

Is there a 12v adapter available for the router or hotspot so it can run full time without needing the inverter on?

  46. KydSyster on May 17, 2021 at 4:34 am

Thank you!!!! I can work remote but i couldnโ€™t figure out how to use my work router without the internet modem I have and that Mofi solves the problem!!!!!! Thanks again๐Ÿค—

  47. Derrick Page on May 17, 2021 at 4:34 am

Can you still buy that At&t plan unlimited? Will work for new Xbox online gaming?

  48. Gregory Hamilton on May 17, 2021 at 4:35 am

What is your unlimited plan because 3 or 4 days watching Netflix my so called unlimited plan is over I just want to buy a unlimited plan flat rate anywhere I have a signal I can watch as much Apple TV as I want without worrying Iโ€™m gonna run out itโ€™s 2021 we should be able to do this? Iโ€™m jealous of your 2โ€™s van thanks for the video!๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿš™๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

  49. Chase Olson on May 17, 2021 at 4:36 am

This is probably a bit overkill, but have you considered Starlink?

  50. TrailMaster NatureNut on May 17, 2021 at 4:37 am

I have the Netgear Nighthawk with At&t unlimited for $35 a month , its supposed to throttle down after 20gb but I never notice any throttling .
