My hubby, Jack of all trades always in a good way, and I are well he’s retired from General Motors and I have been home for 15 yrs now after becoming extremely ill and nearly dying at first but I was very fortunate to have to greatest healthcare in Ontario. I had two days Thursday and Friday at work when I had a heart attack both mornings and was hospitalized that afternoon. I was in the best shape of my life or so I thought. My hubby and I did all our own work and we enjoyed it. After I got ill I was no longer able to work. So my hubby has been my care giver ever since. It’s been really hard on both of us as every time I try to get exercising to try to loose the extra weight all the meds have put on me. I cry a lot, because I get discouraged and depressed. We really enjoy your videos. Please keep making them. I keep my eye on the vacant land for sale even though I would not have a down payment for maybe a year or two and perhaps we’ll have our own piece of paradise just to go to and walk around with our dog. Maybe even camp overnight. We used to do everything outdoors. We even had our own motorcycles, Honda Goldwings. I rode with a precision riding team and we performed all over to raise money for different charities. It took me 7 years to finally accept that I would probably never ride or camp or build decks and design patios or have and work on gorgeous gardens. You guys make me think of what we may have done if we would have known more about off grid living. Perhaps I would not be sick and my sweetheart wouldn’t have to do so much. PS. Heart has completely recovered and so have the lungs. It’s the rest of the hooman that’s always struggling.
I’ve been following you guys for a couple months now, and was inspired to dig into the roots, I’m enjoying seeing where it all started. So much hard work has gone into everything you’re doing, it’s really an inspiration to me.

Like I said yesterday, I am a fan of this outdoor lifestyle, have built my own passive-solar log home and participated in strawbale workshops. I’m ex-army, and have roughed it also. I think Nichole is a very lovely creature. The thumbnails give us a little taste of her beauty that we are not entitled to see more of. It’s a very classy way of showing her beauty without being too revealing. Much better than looking at a thumbnail of a tree for example. Keep up the good work guys!

I would like to teach you guys how to make homemade cement and mortar with materials within 300′ radius of your Yurt. Some natural masonry would make your off grid dwelling sturdy and secure from bear invasions. One can make mortar from wood ashes and some limestone found in rocks laying around. Lime can be extracted from the rocks through burning them and clay can be found in a creek bottom or the banks of a creek or river. Sand can be found anywhere and is necessary in making bricks and mortar / cement.
