One year ago, Eamon and I decided to forgo yet another apartment lease to buy a used 2008 Mercedes Sprinter Van that we would convert to our tiny home on wheels. Our DIY project allowed us to customize our build to meet our specific needs and we could not be happier. Our off-grid camper is the smallest of the 3 typical high-top options and has roughly 60 sq ft of living space. Today, we explore 2 larger van conversions:

inspired me so much I just started a van build of my own it would be great if anyone wanted to check it out its on my channel
I think as it has been almost 3 years since this video showers and toilets on vans are much more the norm in new builds. And after the pandemic it feels like a must with places closed.
What address do you put on your driver’s license if you live full time in a van? Or when you renew licenses and those stickers

A lot of people would like to have one of these but can’t afford anything close to it
What I missed was any comment about the width of the vans. With the Ducato/Promaster being wider and boxier (less narrow at the top) is that of any concern in day to day use of the van. It’s not always just about length 😁
I would love to know if you or anyone in your community have had any insurance or MTO issues with the conversions? I am looking to start one in the coming weeks. Just sorting out what van. Any advice you have on my question would be much appreciated. Love all 3 vans.

I can’t live in anything w/out shower & toilet. But I would like to live in a rv type tiny home.

I’m looking at getting a second hand 170 extended so I can fit a shower/loo cubicle and a wood burner in it. This is the only scenario where you will hear me say I’m glad I’m only 5ft 1 so I can fit.

Id definitely pick the smallest van, just because i travel alone so i don’t need a lot of space, and vans are already big enough to make me nervous to drive when Im going through curvy roads.
People that live in vans are nuts…I own a fleet of 170” WB EXT sprinters, I walk into the vans and I can’t imagine 2 humans and a dog living in that 460 cu ft narrow space.
No thanks!! I need to at least 3000 sq ft between me and my kids….
