VAN LIFE: No Build Van Conversion (DYI decorating Tips)#vanlife
HEY HEY LOOK DOWN HERE! ♥
Greetings (VEDA 2020 DAY 23)
In this video, I give a minivan tour of my No Build Van Build (I think that’s what Bob Wells of CheaprvLiving calls it). Since I’m living a No Build Van Life, I need some DIY van tips to make my van cozier & functional.
April is V.E.D.A VIDEO EVERY DAY APRIL (VEDA 2020), I’ve set a goal to put up a short video of at least 5 minutes each day.
WHO AM I?
I’m “F R A N K I” and “ B E A” is my starter minivan that I’m living in until further notice.
AT THIS MOMENT: I’m in a hotel as a way to shelter in place during COVID-19.
I’ll share my journey of what it’s like living “IN’ and “OUT” of a van. #vanliving
HOW OFTEN WILL I PUT A VIDEO UP ON YOUTUBE?
April is V.E.D.A (Video Every Day April)
I will put up a video every day this month and I invite you to get to know me.
L I KE COMMENT S U B S C R I B E
Take the J O Y R O U T E & most importantly take good care of yourselves.
I like the size of ur bed there..ive made a lot of changes in my life..about to b in my van at least part time or more then part time..just waiting for our weather to break free of winter..lol..4/28..
You have done a really good job with this amount of space.
I HOPE YOU SEE THIS COMMENT I TOO AM IN OHIO AND I’M GETTING READY TO LIVE OFF-GRID IN MY CARAVAN ALSO🤞🏼💯💪🏼
I’d get rid of the candles. Too many van/ RV lifers lose everything to a 🔥 and God forbid someone by stuck inside. There are battery operated candles at Walmart. Good luck n enjoy the ride, it’s a fun life! 🚐🚐🚐
My thoughts are to camp inside your van:
Air mattress, on the floor with no frame. Deflate and roll it up each morning.
Folding metal table to act as table to eat, work desk, to cook on, and to clean dishes on. (Think card table) stash it upright when not in use.
Metal folding chair. Stash it with the table when not in use.
Rechargable LED lantern for light. (Candles seem too dangerous)
Small camp stove (he kind hikers put in a backpack) to cook with, heat water for cleaning, sponge baths, hot drinks, and/or heat the van.
Collapsible tubs that pack flat for dishes and sponge baths.
Rechargable water pump that fits on 3 or 5 gallon water bottle.
Small pan and a small pot, just big enough to cook a single meal for yourself. A plate, 1 spork, 1 bowl, and a cup.
Duffel bags to store your stuff until needed. Get different colors so you know at a glance which hold clothes, which hold camp stove and pot/pan and eating utensil, ect…
Rechargable usb fan and a squirt bottle to cool off during the heat of summer. (Mist yourself, then turn on fan. Works surprisingly well)
Might add a compact chemical toilet and an ice chest/cooler, depending on how much time you spend on the road.
Guess I am suggesting you go hard core minimalist and to put things like the bed, table, and chair away when not in use to keep the area open and clear. I also suggested the folding table and chair because you can use it inside or outside the van. Anyway, that’s all I can think of. Hope something in all that helps. Really liked your positive attitude and kind voice.
https://youtu.be/U4NFGQUuMP8 I just checked and he doesn’t have the video but I found it on another person’s channel if you skip to 9:00 minute mark there was a really nice minivan build with good ideas. 😀
I’m scared to breakdown halfway to RTR lol
Be safe out there for me go Bengals
The best no build build I’ve seen so far is JoAnn’s. I seen the video on SUV RVing. It was posted in April 2020 I believe. I was blown away at how simple and organized it is.
Over the door shoe organizer with the pockets are wonderful for lots of items – shampoo, soap, hand wipes, flashlight, even can goods (whatever you need). Under the bed drawers for clothing and linens are a wonderful out of the way storage, pillow cases work well too and are functional. Where the passenger seat was is a good place for a kitchen – you could put a 12 volt fridge there and put a camp stove on top for cooking. Picture hanging wire makes a good affordable replacement for curtain rods to cover your windows and dress them up. Over the door type baskets could potentially be hung on the window casings for more storage ( https://www.homedepot.com/p/interDesign-Axis-Over-The-Cabinet-Extra-Deep-Storage-Basket-in-Chrome-56370/206114301 ). Wow! This was a long response, lol. Just starting my build and this has been my passion this month so anyways, I hope that I helped just a little. Good luck and safe travels!!
As long as you got what you need…and you’re happy!!! That’s what counts!!!👠🚌👠
good video Joy Route. I broke that thumbs up on your video. Continue to keep up the superb work.
Franki I too love my mini van. I hope to make a video someday soon. I have made a hand washing station in my drivers side door ( did this about 2 years ago before the virus) I have old shampoo pump bottles – 1 with soap& water and 1 with just plain water and a sanitizer pump bottle along with a micro fiber towel for drying my hands (you could put a lotion there too but pump lotions can dry out your hands- the jars are better) it comes in handy after pumping gas. Before I get back in my van I"d do a quick wash and rinse so my place didn’t smell of fuel. off to check out the rest of your channel
Hello!!😍When we run out of tide liquid detergent with spout we fill them with water. They make great containers even for washing dishes & hands .Try that you will love it😍
.
That’s what I did
Use the front area for your. Cook space. Put your refrigerator in the front by the window area in the front where the seat was and then behind that put your stove where you can be able to cook and then you use your walkway to have a little dresser area where it’s not crowded you can organize all your stuff and it’s there so you have a cooking space where you don’t have to keep buying stuff in a refrigerator will you don’t have to keep buying going somewhere else to get food and you have your porta potty in the back so that’s good and that’s all you need 100 watt solar for your refrigerator and then you got heating if you need to heat you got your food and you got it and you got your space underneath there it is that would be the only thing I would change I will put a refrigerator and a stove there where you can be able to have heat you better have food storage so you don’t have to keep driving and getting a food I will put blinds or curtains so I can be a closed space where people don’t look in and you’re good I like it that’s just my opinion
I definitely need lot of help to build mine which is I’m still planning!🤔
Hi I’m having the same problem lol, but at the RTR this year Bob has different minivan designs that may help, really functional and cute.
What are the 2 black metal? trackback on ceiling? Built-in with van?
I would put all my clothing, towels,in pillows with zippers
Get a small futon so you can have a couch and bed in 1
Happy Vanning.
There are tap caps for bottles, and I am planing to turn a garden tap into a bottle tap with multiple bottle caps (there are 3 sizes of bottle caps around here, and I’m planning to have them all on the same tap). hang it sideways or upside down, and you can have a sink underneath. The sink can be made from 2 containers and one lid (or one container with a lid and one without). Just a container bottom to the top of the lid, so you can still put the lid on the other container, then use a hail or hot nail or drill to make a few holes, then use more glue on the walls of those holes, to make sure you don’t have water leaking from the sides, and you’re done. Have the lid on when using the sink, for the top container to be the sink and bottom container to be the gray water tank, and empty it before driving off.
You remind me of my cousin Pat. Glad your staying well. I’ve been dreaming of hitting the road for a long time. I hope soon.
Dawn of Van life is a great channel for you. Her older videos are exactly what you need. I am not living in my Jeep Cherokee but I have two businesses I run out of it. My business was saved by the space saving three drawer plastic organizers. Take off the wheels and I anchor them in the back with one bungy cord to the d hooks that are original screwed in to the Jeep.
Love it! Hoping to get a minivan and live the vanlife someday.
