Your vans pretty much perfect, it has a professional and "complete" look. But you could make a half-arse collapsible inside shower for the
space by the side door. Others have done this : Get the large storage tote or plastic barrel or plastic live stock trough 2ft across. Cut the sides down a little for storage 10" minimum side walls. Make a collapsible 6ft tall PVC pipe shower frame. String a cheap clear vinyl shower curtain on it. Hook up to your sink faucet. Dump out the side door when done. People without warm water then use those small portable propane heated shower systems(shower not included). This can all be stored in the cut down tub, which others have put under their bed, (were not bed/dinette combos though), …….dont know if you have the storage space (?).
How much does all that stuff in your build weigh and how much does it cost to fill up your tank and how far can you go on one tank?
You could easily instal an outdoor shower connected with your vand water system.

How big is the grey tank on your van and how often do you have to dump the tank? I envy your freedom, not sure I could do it. And…….be safe lady….
While you mentioned grocery stores and public library…another resource to add to the list for restrooms…Home Depot and Lowes. As a real estate photographer, when shooting a house, I don’t ask to use a client’s bathroom (or wifi). I make a pitstop before arriving using a nearby resource.

Don’t tell anyone but I will sneak into the larger Hotel chains in the parking lot and in the morning just walk in like you own the joint the bathrooms are always clean.
Wait. Did you say that you "moved into an SUV"? I’ve been living out of an SUV for almost four years, and I love it. If I heard that correctly, it would be interesting to know more about that (to me, at least).

What clothes do you bring for the cold months? I’m planning a big trip and want to be prepared. Also I want to budget and save money. What are some easy meals we can make while traveling long amounts of days? I’m willing to cook. I would just like it simple. Simple clean up. Healthy meals preferably. Also, how do you plan your tips? Do you have a formula?

#2 is a major problem for me I have crohns disease so I would need a bathroom to go a lot if I need to. going in random locations wouldnt work for me.

The day in the life reminds me of the Sedona area. Like you I’m in the SW desert region, but even that is difficult during these times with closures. That includes gyms. Many have been closed as non essential.

the shower in the van is the second things to make after the heater. It’s super easy and makes a lot of sense not going around looking for it.. I’m always surprise watching many video of full time van travellers without a shower. i’m reliable to help you to make one..:)!

Thank you for answering the biggest questions I had about van life. After what we’ve been thru in 2020, I’m seriously considering a major life change by going on the road. In the 90s I traveled constantly as a photojournalist, then life changed and I planted roots. The song of the road still plays in my heart. It’s time I listened. Truckers get free showers and are happy to use their fuel card and give you a free shower just ask. Warning! Their are some sketchy guys. Females should ash female drivers to eliminate sexual bull from creepy drivers.
I’ve just started watching videos on van life and just heard of it, and I like it, but I realized quite quickly that I’d really miss my shower. It’s funny how you never really think of something until it’s gone. It’s like: "Holy shit, I use to be able to stand in my shower for half an hour whenever I wanted".
