Hi! Thanks for the tips. I’m also planning on traveling in a van with a dog and two cats. Are there ways to keep the van cool if you had to leave for an extended period of time? Like if you were going on a hike? What do you do for your cats in situations like that? Thanks!

grumpy husband and I live in a dodge grand caravan and thank goodness my dogs don’t poop in my van, (yet) but can relate to the cat running to the box every 5… I live with 2 dogs and a (caog) cat thinks he a dog… the sheading is imposable…I have them bathed every month… going to need therapy before to long I tell ya.
I love cats but I’m allergic to them I have four little dogs an one paraket

Chewy has pet play pens by Zampa…maybe that would be good for the cats, this way they can be outside your van. I think it folds into a carrying case.

I love seeing videos like this. I’m just starting Van Life, and have a large Dog and a tiny Cat. They’re really good about everything, though I am working on a good litter box situation, need to keep the doggo out of it. As for the sleep situation, I have a big black dog… but no white sheets, plus he doesn’t shed all that much 😀

Someone gave me a great tip once about the hair – use a glove like a medical or cleaning glove to swipe at the hair when it’s on upholstery. It gathers it up easier. I can’t imagine traveling with cats. I’m worried about dealing with my large GSD in a van but looking forward to it. Great video!

I used a non-electronic scat mat to stop the door rushing from my dogs and cats. They have never walked on it but they know it isn’t going to be comfortable to walk on. It is very inexpensive, lightweight and doesn’t take up space.
