Ok, so I lost my job and getting ready to be homeless. I am trying to decide what I should spend $$! So confused! Thanks for the vid!!

  2. Jesus Aranda on May 22, 2021 at 3:51 am

if you can’t decide between rv life and van life, buy a class b rv! It has everything built out like an RV, but within the small size of a van.

  3. Elisama Carneiro Fragoso on May 22, 2021 at 3:53 am

i really enjoyed the RV space but considering that i would travel by myself, i think the van is pretty much alright for me

  4. NakiaSimone on May 22, 2021 at 3:54 am

Hi Sara and Alex! 1st know this… I love your channel and cant get enough of your beautiful van build creations!! 2nd I know this video is eons ago but I have a Question…what do you know if anything about Class C RVs, and since your Sprinter fans, how does the Jayco Class C in particular perform as far as quality and durability? I’m a single mom who knows zero about car mechanics no less rv gizmos and gadgets and Im a rookie when its comes to rv life so it’s very important I know I’m getting a solid Class C that will not be a money pit. I would appreciate any advice you might have to steer me in the right direction 😊

I was full-time RVer for many years and looking to downsize to a van for better mobility and now to a cargo trailer at retirement for part-time travel, supported by a small house. There are class B RV which is similar to Vanlife van with the full facility with tiny space. That kind of RV is usually used by part-time RVer with a house. In general, average speaking, Vanlifer with a limited facility is more for "shorter term" (~ a couple of years to a few years) in my opinion. RV especially larger one has benefit for "long term" living for most people. Van limited space required much more frequent finding water and other necessities, it gets tiresome when the early excitement wear out.

To me, 32 foot RV and a Van serve a different market. Simplistically, It depends if you biased to stay put or move around, little space or larger space. Which strength are your must have? If you a diehard wandering person type, you probably have both in your life time.

When I watch youtube videos at RV shows I wonder why these RV makers aren’t catching on to the MASSIVE amount of people that redo rv’s. Older to newer ones. So many are unique, but many don’t keep the overhead cabinets or paint everything a brighter color. You think they’d see that they could modernize these beasts and not waste so many materials. This is gorgeous!

You can’t stealth camp in a trailer
That’s why I want a van, so I can Stealth camp if I have too

  10. Taylor-René Rowan on May 22, 2021 at 4:00 am

What of its a 1991 mini warrior winnebago rv that’s like half the size of the trailer, but double the size of the van? Does a small rv restrict you from parking certain areas?

  11. TheLifeOfKaay on May 22, 2021 at 4:00 am

i literally want an RV now. 😐

  12. Megan Call on May 22, 2021 at 4:02 am

  13. Houston Fowler on May 22, 2021 at 4:02 am

    Skoolie!

  14. John Hojnowski on May 22, 2021 at 4:02 am

And you can run an air conditioning off of solar and Battery Bank I’ve seen other van builders build it and show it on YouTube
You probably need 4 to 6 Battle Born batteries minimum 300 watts I’m solar or more the ability to recharge your batteries via solar, from your internal alternator or second alternator while driving or from Shore power but to be honest if you have 300 + watts of solar 6 Battle Born batteries or lithium equivalent of another brand
You could easily run your air conditioner for 5 to 6 hours

  15. Roaming Free on May 22, 2021 at 4:02 am

Their 5th wheel is beautiful. But I choose an adventure van because it will take me out in the boonies. Plus I feel more comfortable driving a van. Being a solo traveler vans imo are safer. If I feel uncomfortable, jump in drivers seat & I’m outta there.

  16. Xarai on May 22, 2021 at 4:02 am

thats a trailer not an rv

  17. Ella Harlan on May 22, 2021 at 4:02 am

    Trailer but I like Van’s

  18. Harold Cale on May 22, 2021 at 4:03 am

I have camped out often and I want to full time van living. Not a truck or RV. Thanks

  19. Grace Morrison on May 22, 2021 at 4:04 am

Aaaa, as much as I want to do van-life for the stealth parking, I don’t want to travel without my pets. It’s an RV for me. :’-)

  20. 98 KZEW-DALLAS FT WORTH on May 22, 2021 at 4:05 am

I would NOT pick the man bun.

  21. Kim G on May 22, 2021 at 4:05 am

Exactly my quandary. Hubby and I are getting ready to downsize upon retirement. He wants to go bigger with a truck and a camper, but we definitely couldn’t handle all the fees at rv parks so we would have to be able to boondock, at least part of the time. By my way of thinking, we will only be using the van for sleeping or being indoors when it is raining. Less gas, less rent, easier parking and better mobility adds up to van life for me.

  22. Becky Elliott on May 22, 2021 at 4:10 am

    Van is best choice!

  23. PeterE on May 22, 2021 at 4:15 am

I thought you might like this alternative – living on a narrow boat (barge) in England. We have an extensive network of canals built in the late 1700s and early 1800s, before railways were developed. Many are still navigable and many people live and move about on them in long narrow barges, as welll-quipped as any RV. You can criss-cross the country, from London to Bristol, to Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester, with lots of quiet green countryside in between.

I’d like a comparison between vans and drivable RVs.

  25. Tori Blazze on May 22, 2021 at 4:17 am

currently living in an rv saving up for a van!

  26. TheMatchaMO on May 22, 2021 at 4:17 am

Rv cause I have pets and I’d love to have a lot more space for cooking since both me and my husband like to cook I also wanna do travel nursing and feel like I’d be more comfortable in something a little larger than a van

  27. Ron Black on May 22, 2021 at 4:17 am

Definitely a van more stealth and I don’t have to get out to get in my driver seat but the fifth wheels are nice

  28. Brenda Durr on May 22, 2021 at 4:18 am

Defintely, Definitely RV. Hands down! I love the space. If its raining or snowing I have a beautiful space to enjoy. I love my indoor tiny kitchen garden. I also have my beautiful pets. I can also invite family and friends to share the enjoyment.

  29. Crystal D on May 22, 2021 at 4:23 am

Beautiful 5th wheel. Drawback, this is for a more stationary lifestyle.

  30. Tonia’s Adventure on May 22, 2021 at 4:23 am

Okay a van cause I’m not sure what I’m getting myself into and it sounds more reasonable.😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️

  31. Harold Cale on May 22, 2021 at 4:24 am

I’m on 2000 per mo. budget so rv is out van is more affordable.

  32. Jazmin Fay on May 22, 2021 at 4:24 am

I’m regretting buying my RV I am wanting to sell my 2009 RV and buy a van from you guys tbh

  33. David Hixson on May 22, 2021 at 4:25 am

Do you have a link to RV Fixer Upper?

  34. Serial_Chiller on May 22, 2021 at 4:25 am

RV if there’s kids and pets and van life if it’s just the two of us.👍🏾👌🏽

  35. Michael Smith on May 22, 2021 at 4:26 am

A trailer if i had a thousand trails membership or land, a VAN if i wanted no attachments to anything:) Im a vannner:)

  36. Tamz Life on May 22, 2021 at 4:30 am

I have kids, so RV for sure. LOL

  37. All Signs Point West on May 22, 2021 at 4:32 am

RV life for now! But there are so many cool van conversions that are tempting!

  38. John Hojnowski on May 22, 2021 at 4:33 am

Slide outs can leak overtime and become drafty, that’s why Pleasure-Way will not do a slide out in their RVs
Personally again it goes with stealth and convenience, to purchase a trailer you have to purchase a vehicle to tow it usually a pickup single or dual wheel I’m not sure if I want a van or regular RV, my biggest concern is filling up the water and doing with the black tank
Whatever I get I would like to get the ability to be able to refill the water system with a hose or jugs of water which you can get at refill stations at Rite Aid, Walmart and other places
Uf I’m off grid there won’t be a garden hose attachment

  39. Hector Cintron on May 22, 2021 at 4:36 am

    Van…👍

  40. Linda Cianchetti on May 22, 2021 at 4:36 am

Why is the owner wearing SHOES?

  41. MrThelovechannel on May 22, 2021 at 4:36 am

Which one do you think has a better return investment for those that are planning to do this short-term?

  42. asdfgoogle on May 22, 2021 at 4:37 am

8:30 can’t you just use the van’s air conditioner when you power it up? It’s a diesel, so I shouldn’t use much fuel at all when idle and running the AC.

  43. Phyllis Muniz on May 22, 2021 at 4:38 am

I would choose a Van. Stealth is the way to go.

  44. Chelsea Pavone on May 22, 2021 at 4:41 am

Super weird, Kelsey… we look a lot alike. And sound alike. And my name is Chelsea.

  45. c h r i s t i n e d on May 22, 2021 at 4:41 am

Definitley considered both, but I think a small rv works best for me 😊

  46. David Boucher on May 22, 2021 at 4:43 am

What do you do if your van broke down and have to bring it to the garage you have no more wheels and no where to sleep

  47. PeterE on May 22, 2021 at 4:45 am

I’m writing from Europe, so things are a bit different here. Roads and parking spaces are generally smaller and fuel perhaps twice the price. I have a VW California Ocean (which I know is not available in North America). We have RVs here, but generally smaller than yours. I prefer the van because it doubles as my daily car, which means the same insurance, parking space and running costs. I get typically 27 US mpg, so 20 mpg or 10 mpg sound a bit low to me! Then again, we pay more for fuel. I was surprised at the amount of ‘heavy’ materials you use (in both vehicles covered): ceramic tiles and sink, heavy wood, etc. This must all add to the fuel consumption. The VW is mostly light aluminium and plastic for the interior. Anyway, its interesting to see different perspectives.

  48. Sara & Alex James – Custom Crafted Vans on May 22, 2021 at 4:47 am

We want to know – what would you choose?! Van or RV?

  49. burkminipup on May 22, 2021 at 4:47 am

I am mostly concerned with the average cost of campgrounds. I would think that would add up, and defeat the pros when the point is to be able to travel anywhere without having to pay high living boarding costs.
