Question ! Have you ever had your diesel heater tank gel up in the cold? I’m trying to figure out where to mount my tank either inside or outside the vehicle I live in north New Jersey so it gets pretty cold. Great channel by the way.

awesome tour. i imagine that your recharge you batteries with the alternator ? did you swap it for a bigger one ?

  4. Roaming50 on January 5, 2022 at 1:58 pm

The interior wood is beautiful and you have some nice utility/design choices but it is also missing key parts for me, but perhaps that is due to your prior Westfalia days. Deal breakers for me are that there is no running hot water, no toilet and no shower. While definitely not as pretty inside I would still take my Winnebago Revel 4×4. Perhaps I’m weak, but my days of pooping into a hole in the ground and running around filthy after a messy day mountain biking are not for me anymore 😆. I like to keep my bike in my garage in the rear and then clean up at the end of the day before video editing. But, my story is not as good as yours; just different strokes for different folks. Loving it so far. Keep it up!

You have the coolest setup besides Miss Shaffer I wondered how come you don’t have a dog like a medium sized Jack Russell or one that you can control

Keep up the great living I might be joining the club the van life. And if you were to recommend a van preferably four-wheel-drive besides the volts waggon even though it is a beast I’ve been looking around there’s an options

who the heck cares about those people who think you sell soap for a living? Do they use Google, drink Coke? Do they watch Yellowstone or football? The NFL would not exist and public university basketball coaches would not make $9 million a year (obscene), without advertising. Ignore them.

Your van: an awesome off road/grid rig. The only thing I question, is the piano hinge counter top. This design requires keeping the top clear to access the interior cabinet space which reduces the tops functionality to being more or less, purely aesthetic. I get that with the top moving the outlets don’t however with a little ingenuity, that problem could have been solved.

  34. Charles Murray on January 5, 2022 at 2:34 pm

I was wondering I’m sure it’s in one of your videos but I just started watching them I’m starting from the very beginning how much was that Mercedes and do you think spray foam in a van would be a good idea for insulation

    What is that skillet?

  36. MrGenedancingmachine on January 5, 2022 at 2:38 pm

I went from living in a tiny fiat scudo for two years to living in a long wheel base sprinter, the sprinter feels like a penthouse compared to the tiny cramped apartment that was the scudo!

The intro to this video is awesome being from Arizona living in Arizona what a beautiful intro love the red rocks 🪨

  40. Becky Elliott on January 5, 2022 at 2:46 pm

While your van is superbly outfitted, prepared for every possible event, it can be extremely discouraging to those of us that have dreams of living the “Born Free” lifestyle due to the obvious cost that it takes for this van and it’s contents.

  41. paracha3 on January 5, 2022 at 2:47 pm

Without going into details, just curious do you carry any firearm with you for safety out in the wilderness travel?

I really wish I discovered van life years ago so I could have just go over into it when I had a better chance soon cuz now it’s all I want to do is convert to van life but money is the biggest issue and life is just really hard right now but I’m really hoping sooner than later I can figure something out to get into it and actually start traveling I really want to go see some big time car shows and photograph them along with doing some scale RC rock crawling and filming for my dad’s RC car page it’s a lease I could do for him dealing with stage four prostate cancer.

  46. Don B. Puryear, Jr. on January 5, 2022 at 2:49 pm

  49. tian johan on January 5, 2022 at 2:52 pm

So, you got a thing for lights? Two things I would delete was the added exterior lights just to have a more tone’d down appearance. Roof top deck would have to give for major solar install. Otherwise very cool build, I’m sure this will bring you loads of fun and adventure. Come to think of it, I would do a slightly mod to the slide out kitchen. The "end cap" on the inner slide, the one that holds the burner, that end cap should really be attached to the secondary slide out, the slide that have the counter top/pres space, that way you can transfer hot pans or whatever much easier. It would just improve the work flow when cooking. And because we eat several times a day cooking space should be as functional as possible. But now I’m too anal, your kitchen and slide out’s are great. Very nice build,, and clever use of those rise up hinges. Very nice use of lights inside the van.
