Vintage Bathroom REVEAL!!! | Master Bathroom Makeover

Vintage Bathroom REVEAL!!! | Master Bathroom Makeover

Welcome to our master bathroom!! This glorious palatial expanse of white porcelain is right off our master bedroom. Well, maybe not exactly palatial. But considering the house has precisely one bathroom when we moved in and it was on the second floor and it was also carpeted? This is an enormous improvement.

Now don’t be fooled. This room has been completed for going on nine months now. And we have been thoroughly enjoying it the whole time. But I just haven’t managed to get around to filming it…until today.

So today I invite you to come tour our not newly completed but still entirely spectacular turn of the century inspired master bathroom. I promise the whole room is lovely.

All resources and links are below. It’s a DOOZY. So if you can’t find something, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

I just found this after asking about a tubless bathroom. I need to figure out how to do this without tile. My house will be grout free.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! I just love what you did with the floor tile. I had never seen that pattern before. You must think you are in Heaven now with your master bath. Imagine having to go upstairs in the middle of the night. You did a great job and even though it is a small bathroom, it does not look small. Enjoy it in good health!

Paige …I am new to your channel & I am obsessed with your renovation … I am binge watching your channel!! I have a question about the wall paint in your bathroom … you told us the name of it, what is the finish (ie ~ satin, flat …)?? Thanks so much !!!

You built exactly the bathroom I want. Ever since I spent time in Japan, I have wanted a wet room style bathroom. Not having a shower barrier can make a small bathroom feel like a spas. The town I live in now has a bunch of circa 1900’s houses. I’d love redo one of them with a historic look, but a curbless shower. If there’s room for a claw foot tub, all the better. I absolutely refuse to put a shower head over a clawfoot tub. Those stupid wrap around curtains are the worst.

Please tell me that the photo of a woman and baby on your shelf is not a family heirloom and just one of those creepy antique store finds.

  19. Beth P on January 11, 2021 at 1:39 am

You promise the whole room is lovely? What I saw in the early photos was lovely enough!

  20. Amy Patton on January 11, 2021 at 1:40 am

That bathroom is perfection! Especially for aging in place.

  22. Diana Driver Asbury on January 11, 2021 at 1:41 am

Oh, my goodness, I’m in love. That shower floor is wonderful. And, well, the sink.

  23. froddymomma on January 11, 2021 at 1:43 am

I have to comment on that catalog. I found it in the VCU digital library and downloaded it. Talk about gasp worthy designs! I never thought I could get so excited by tile designs. lol I don’t have a house to redo, but I can imagine some of those designs as table tops. I kind of want to redo the top of my desk in tile now.

  24. Jackie Burnett on January 11, 2021 at 1:43 am

This bathroom is to die for!!! It’s absolutely gorgeous and I love how you decorate!!!!

  25. Wendy Cromwell on January 11, 2021 at 1:44 am

I’m late to the party – just found your channel yesterday and have been bingeing your videos since. Your curb-free shower reminds me of the same style of shower in my friend’s home. She’s connected to the health care system and she and her husband designed their home with not only their own end-of-life needs in mind but also the needs of their aging parents. They were concerned with how one of them could shower if they had any sort of mobility issue and, hence, they installed a shower much like yours. Brilliant! PS. I noticed your large, curtain-free window opposite the toilet. That’s a clear indicator that you’re in the country … there’s no one around to see you on the throne. ☺️

Do you have videos or pictures of the shower floor install?

  32. Darlena Russo on January 11, 2021 at 1:53 am

LOVE your bathroom!!! I would put up a towel hook for the sink, just in case the towel fell into the wet sink. Really like the sink, and no shower lip at the bottom!! Perfect.

  33. Janice on January 11, 2021 at 1:53 am

I LOVE the bathroom!! The closet is EVERYTHING. what is in the frame??

  34. busvlogger on January 11, 2021 at 1:53 am

First, the floor pattern and towel cabinet, brilliant! But that sink! I would’ve freaked out! The toilet match up is geek out worthy too. You’re video production quality, so impressed.

LUV the tile, and the kitties!

  37. Jenny M on January 11, 2021 at 1:56 am

So funny that the first thing you showed was washing your hands with those annoying twin faucets. I super hated those as a child growing up. Especially in cold weather, when you can’t wash your hands or face in nice warm water. It’s either hot or cold, or running water in the sink which never seems as clean a wash as freshly running water. Still, you’re bathroom is very pretty. Great job.

  38. Nancy Cowan on January 11, 2021 at 1:56 am

I’m trying to catch up on older videos. That shower is something you’ll never regret as maybe one day you might have a hip replacement (me, twice, with three revisions). Bathing/showers have been a nightmare. Great decision to do it this way as is your house plan of one floor living. ❤️

  39. Shan Kristofferson on January 11, 2021 at 1:57 am

My house is awful 1980s ranch style in texas and i grew up with houses like yours in northern chicago suburbs and 1950s as the “newer” homes. Doesnt technically fit with style of home (yet) but i had to do a stud out reno of both bathrooms after living here 15yrs with smell, mold, and bathrooms half functional. Hall bath is what my kids use and i did white tile on walls but went with a wood plank looking ceramic floor, medium blue walls, and brushed silver fixtures for a retro inspired look made modern. My master i did with black and white hex tile, white subway up walls with a stripe of 1” black around the border, and rubbed bronze fixtures and plates. I painted it robins egg blue. Both bathrooms are smaller than yours but by decreasing vanity from 36” to 32” and doing white tile both look much bigger and brighter. I have hated and resented house since day 1 (my ex chose it, after refusing to look at what i liked and hating 150+ homes) and im surprised how attached i am since fixing my bathrooms. I dream of leaving texas as soon as my kids turn 18 and owning a older home elsewhere, but i swear ill end up recreating my bathroom!

    Loved the vintage bath.

So beautiful! This is my new inspiration for a very tiny, very overpacked bathroom in my 1904 Victorian!

One other thing I suggest is a small flowering tree outside your window for interest. The barn is blaa.

So after the dining room reveal, I went back to see rooms I had seen on IG ( where I found you almost 2 years ago). I am constantly amazed at your attention to detail and wonder if you would do an update to show how your everyday storage does work and evolve. You are doing such a wonderful renovation!

Love the bathroom, I just found this channel and am now binge watching everything. The only thing I would change would be the sink, just because it’s a pet peeve of mine to have to touch the sides of the sink while washing my hands.
