From one designer to another —-> 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼✨💖✨Great ideas … regardless if only a $100 budget. There’s endless possibilities … the most important part is *the client & their budget* — both must be satisfied.
Pffft … and never-mind the haters … they’re just armchair critics —- the laziest non-job on the planet.

  9. Sarah Hamilton on April 11, 2021 at 2:12 am

So she made an ugly hotel room. God.
Those “custom” curtains look like trash. She would have been better off to use the fabric to make nice curtains instead of wallpaper. Keep the painted accent wall, make some matching throw pillows, and instead of organizing the books by color (WHY?), have him clear out any he doesn’t need and organize them in a manner that he’ll actually use them – topic is a great way to go. Buy some inexpensive bookends that look cute, and paint the back of the bookshelf the color of the accent wall (so it looks like a “floating” shelf).

She is correct ..you don’t need a lot of money to have a stylish home ….. however ….that apartment makeover was horrible 😖

  13. Lennie Blake on April 11, 2021 at 2:17 am

Maybe this is where the previous home owner got their inspiration to make wall art with thumb tacs. Great way to take chunks of plaster off!!!

I would’ve died if she had gotten rid of my books. I was so worried at first when she boxed his. lol

"This isn’t what I was expecting at all" in other words, I thought I was getting Ty Pennington, instead I got Penny Tight-on. A for effort on a budget smaller than a date night, but dear lord. A few cans of gold and silver spray paint, some trash, and dollar store items, could have done a far superior job. This was like, let me see what shit I got in my trunk.

  17. cindy pattana on April 11, 2021 at 2:23 am

Lazy and sloppy paint job on the bookshelf, wallpaper is ugly, curtains are ugly, put the sofa where the bed is.

  18. This World IsCrazy on April 11, 2021 at 2:23 am

Once that green paint and graffiti curtains went up it was a no for me

  19. Libby Darling on April 11, 2021 at 2:23 am

Sad to say it but I hate almost everything done here. Those awful, noisy stripes! That idiotic curtain! The stainless update to the fridge is good but maybe some more of that material could have been added in the kitchen area for a backsplash. And anyone who arranges books by color is not a reader.

  20. snickerbuckle on April 11, 2021 at 2:24 am

Those bookshelves are now perfect for when you’re in the mood to read something blue. 🤪

  21. Jeanne Callahan on April 11, 2021 at 2:25 am

    This is horrible , wtf.

  22. Sarah Holland on April 11, 2021 at 2:27 am

It looks really good. Not keen on black paint on the curtain tho. Fabric paint in maybe dark or pale grey. Or printed voiles are dirt cheap on Amazon.

  26. Crystal Telf on April 11, 2021 at 2:30 am

The only thing I wasn’t crazy about is the spray painted curtains….they looked like spray painted curtains! But the rest was great!

I know a lot of people in the comments don’t like a few things, but I personally think it looks great! Remember, it’s subjective 😊

Nice but please give her more than $100.

  31. LucyLynette on April 11, 2021 at 2:38 am

She didn’t deal with the worst problem in the apartment that was a free fix: getting the bed away from the kitchen. The bed would have worked well under the windows, and putting it off in the corner would have opened up options for how to use the rest of the space to create a common area, making it welcoming to guests. The bed in the middle of the room makes the whole space feel like a bedroom. Yes, she turned it, but she negated that tiny improvement by creating a big, bright focal point around it.

  32. Sharon Hall on April 11, 2021 at 2:40 am

I think the fabric on the wall looks great. I might be tempted to put my bed on the opposite wall totally away from the noise of the fridge and the air conditioner. The desk or the TV could go in that Nook.

  33. Pamela Johnson on April 11, 2021 at 2:41 am

Nice you did a great job

  35. marie c. on April 11, 2021 at 2:42 am

it’s a nice makeover. his plain studio got a little color and organization for $100. And she seemed nice. Now he can tell his friends that he actually hugged a real woman🌹 😆😂

  36. rEBEKAH BARDSLEY on April 11, 2021 at 2:43 am

I did not read lots of comments but I am with Linda Reeves! If the tenant is happy that is all that matters I just wonder if you have to change it all back fir your security deposit it may take more then $100 to paint white to cover up the dark green walls and it’s very hard to get fabric off walls been there done that luckily they were my walls. But he is happy that’s t j.g e main thing and I liked her ideas for thumb tacks to add accent on a piece of furniture.

  45. Signe Knudsen on April 11, 2021 at 2:51 am

I would have looked for a large colorful hand woven piece of cloth to hang on one of the blank walls rather than painting it a dark color. The striped fabric she used by the bed looks cheap and is ugly. My initial response to her getting rid of the books was a knee-jerk noooooooo response and so when I resumed watching I was happy to see that she kept the books but the trend of arranging books by color is one only a non-reader, anti-intellectual would choose. I would have added another low bookshelf somewhere to put some of the books to give some breathing room to the bookshelves and then added some thrifted vessels, vases, art glass, good quality baskets, small sculptures, fine candlesticks or other well chosen decor to the shelves

Having a bed beside the fridge isn’t healthy.
