Hi Jo, thank you so much for taking the time out to film us a super helpful and informative video. It’s reassuring for sure.
I wanted to ask about doing a 1 year Interior Design certificate as opposed to doing a degree. How much on average should a 1 year certificate cost? I’m seeing some for £700 vs 7000€ vs $1000. I don’t want to get ripped off but at the same time, I don’t want a ‘cheap’ certification. Hope you can help, Priscilla 💛
Hello Jo
I really loved your video on interior design and was planning to do an online course as I have a full time job and cannot leave it. My goal is to design restaurants and homes. Do you think after doing an online course and trying to get mentor ship as well as working hard on it, it is possible to do this transition ? I know you have mentioned if you want to design houses you can start by doing a vocational course but I am interested both in houses and restaurants.
Thank you so much and I would really appreciate your advice.
My daughter wants to make this course, but she lives in England. That will be a problem?

Hello, I am looking for a future career in commercial interior architecture/design…
1. I am wondering if I can take an undergraduate degree in architecture then do a post-graduate in interior architecture for commercial interior architecture/design?
2. Or is it mandatory to do an undergraduate degree in interior architecture to do post-graduate in interior architecture for commercial interior architecture/ design?
Really glad that I came across your video and very useful advice. Thank you!
I study interior design in school and I live in Bulgaria, my “plan” is to study somewhere in Europe, does that mean if I want a license do I need to go to Canada or the US to get it?
am definitely considering to choose interior design as my major in college but I am very confused on whether it suited me or not. I have a high sense of art, especially when it comes to decorating a room. I am just wondering do interior designers decorate rooms along with the points you mentioned? Can an interior designer be interior decorators at the same time?
Thank you for this video! Interior design has always been my "calling". I have a Bachelor’s in Plastic Arts and I’ve been wondering if I have to do a Master’s in Interior Design in order to enter the field. I’m really worried about how expensive a Master’s degree is here in the US and I don’t want to get into an unplayable debt. So I’ve been researching for courses and I’m considering the Interior Design Institute or the New York Institute of Art + Design. What’s your genuine advice? Do you suggest the Master’s degree or do you think a course would be a better decision? I’ll appreciate your response! <3
So if I want to be a commercial interior designer what exactly would I need?
I really appreciate for your kindness.
Can I study online?
Unfortunately I’m in one of those states that require licensing. It’s such a pain because we have to take an exam from the NCIDQ that requires about 3,500 hours of experience, before we can be licensed! I think it’s very unfair.
Hello, I’m 25 and I want to become an interior designer (currently I have full time job as Petroleum Engineer). Where to start? I need help. Sometimes I feel worried that I’m late and I need to start immediately otherwise it will be late.
Hi! I’m currently studying computer science engineering but my passion lies in interior designing and architecture. Is it possible to pursue a masters in interior designing at a renowned university with an engineering degree?
What program/school would you suggest I enroll in for these courses? I’m currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in psychology as a senior; however, I’m interested in interior design and wanted to know the recommended steps I should take.
I plan on studying business administration in college but want to take interior designing as my masters. Is this okay, and would it be a good qualification?
This has been really helpful Jo.

I’m graduating high school in June 2021 and I strongly considering interior design as a career. The problem is that I have no idea where to start my research and where to study, I feel sort of lost and confused. And thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful x
Really was a deep and honest interview, from the deep of your heart, spontaneous way, you really eased me by those infos, coz fr the moment I’m confused about doing an interior designer, I’m 22years old, from morocco, need your mentorship, already I readed the article, but I didn’t got the difference between getting degrees and short courses or diploma?
