Nice list! We live close to Rincon so have camped there several times. Wright’s Beach looked like our style! Oregon has amazing campgrounds everywhere – our old Lab loved cooking off in the lake at Fort Stevens.

San Luis Obispo County in California, has a couple great beach camping locations: Oceano Dunes and Pirate’s Cove, to name two. No amenities, but cheaper than a campground.

  4. Tim Weimar on August 8, 2021 at 9:55 pm

That was awesome, thanks Jared!! My wife and I love to find places to camp on the beach, and my list of places to try just got bigger, thanks again!!

good resource but leapfrogging from Sonoma all the way to Oregon misses some of the best beach camping on the west coast in Mendocino and Humboldt Counties.

  21. Noel Culbertson on August 8, 2021 at 10:20 pm

Thanks for the great list of must-sees. It was great to see Camano Island make the list. I guess that’s why we’ve been having a hard time nabbing our favorite spot!

Dear liz, i’m from hawaii and there’s alot of beaches you can go camping at the beach but the only thing is that now you have to get a permit and you never had to do that before and i miss camping)

  27. Daniel smith on August 8, 2021 at 10:28 pm

    Love your webpage!!!!!

  28. Andersons Outdoors on August 8, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Great video guys! I’m subbed now. I enjoyed this a lot as it made me start looking up these places and dreaming about if we could pull off a trip to some of these places. We just got back from a trip to Cannon Beach, OR and we were so impressed – we want to go back and explore the coast!

  29. Micah Foster on August 8, 2021 at 10:29 pm

We love Yosemite! We’ve done Santa Cruz and Monterey beach ⛺️ though.

  30. Me Me on August 8, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Should mention where on California coast these campgrounds are. I live on California coast and don’t recognize some of these campgrounds. Also would be nice to state if these camping spots can accommodate tents.

  31. Lorraine Kaai on August 8, 2021 at 10:32 pm

I love camping on the beach the family use to camp every summer and we use to sit around the camp fire talking about ghost stories

  32. Kevin st,george on August 8, 2021 at 10:35 pm

Hi, you should tell us the Names of the towns where these campgrounds are.

  33. Sylvia Koelsch on August 8, 2021 at 10:36 pm

CAMPENDIUM HAS A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!? How in the world did we miss this! Great info thanks!

  34. calisdad3 on August 8, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Ya know- Instead of laying them all out on a blanket and insuring a crowded or ‘Campground Full’ experience why not encourage ways people can find their own awesome experiences? AAA ruined Kirk Creek CG years ago when they put it on the cover of Via. Go check the reservations (I did). They are booked up for 6 months and you can’t reserve more than 6 months out. Same for Wright’s Beach. enjoy.

  35. Lorraine Kaai on August 8, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Hi i’m from hawaii and we have alot of beaches but here in las vegas have no beach)i miss camping

  36. Ed Schaper on August 8, 2021 at 10:37 pm

Thanks for the great content of beach camping along the west coast video.

  41. Ron Rowan on August 8, 2021 at 10:39 pm

You missed Patrick’s Point State Park in Trinidad, California. It beats all those you mentioned hands down. What an obvious blunder for Campendium!

  42. Philip Dutton on August 8, 2021 at 10:39 pm

Dude, you better check how to pronounce Camano. Yeah it doesn’t follow the English rules but if you actually spent time there? I do enjoy your videos!

  43. Ian tru on August 8, 2021 at 10:40 pm

    Only got 1 questions.
Are dogs allowed? If not on the beach, then bear the beach

  44. blackstar comics on August 8, 2021 at 10:40 pm

and how much do these camping spots cost per night

  45. Crystal Herrin on August 8, 2021 at 10:43 pm

Great video to re watch! Thank you!

  46. Jen Heeg on August 8, 2021 at 10:46 pm

Great video but I really would have loved to see a map with these locations…I’m planning this route and I’ll be googling each of these to figure out where they are. Thanks!

  47. sylvia lower on August 8, 2021 at 10:46 pm

They’re all beautiful but try to make a reservation! It’s impossible!! There’s never anything open I’m sick of trying to find a spot

  48. RvAmericanDream on August 8, 2021 at 10:47 pm

We are just about to make the trip from Monterey Bay to Washington, this might be helpful

  49. John Wigren on August 8, 2021 at 10:48 pm

All the campgrounds near the Bay Area Coast are booked for the winter.. Is it because people can’t afford rent they’re camping?

  50. Ce Ce on August 8, 2021 at 10:48 pm

    Cape Disappointment 👍🇺🇸
