Awesome video!! I have a camped for 30+ years and have camped in all types of tents. Now I am getting into tunnel/airbeam tents from the uk. They are huge and built with extreme weather in mind. Looking to get my tunnel tent this summer. Happy camping!!

best tent explanation ever . only talks about what non-professional people really want to know first. Especially the condensation part. Thanks a lot

I chose a Gazelle which sadly was not re viewed. As an older camper, standing inside the tent, not crawling in and being able to assemble and disassemble quickly were important to me. What are your thoughts about the Gazelle T4?

  12. Valerie Linares on June 13, 2023 at 2:59 pm

As someone who lives in the southwest (Arizona), I think the type of tent you get depends on the specific area you’ll be camping in. Yes, we are known for our hot summers, but the fall and winter can get surprisingly cold. The entire state is surprisingly dry, but condensation can still be an issue if you’re not prepared for it. You definitely want good ventilation. Not only to prevent condensation, but also if you’re going to camp in the summer, it can get quite hot. However, if you’re camping in the colder months, that’s something to consider, too. I’d prefer a tent that has plenty of ventilation, AND lots of zippable windows so you can zip them up to retain as much heat as you need. Arizona’s terrain is varied and so is the climate. So your tent needs may be different depending on whether your camping in the deserts or the mountains. Just something to keep in mind.

As far as dome tents taking high winds: when these tents are made with affordability in mind, the fiberglass poles can snap under high wind conditions.

Great video! I like the Coleman 6 person pop-up tent, except it doesn’t have an electrical access port. Is there an aftermarket one that can be installed?

Great channel. Some of these channels are charlatans. They use computer generated voice over and are full of incorrect and outdated features. One refered me by a link to a product website that went out of business two years prior! You know your Sh*t!

Hi, the Wenzel Klondike 8 person tent is basically a two room tent. It has a front room that acts as a screened in porch with a completely enclosed (sealed on the sides, top, and bottom, accessed through a zippered door) sleeping area. This, to me, is a perfect layout. The problem is it’s not an instant tent, and the screen area is lower than the sleeping area. Is there a tent out there that has those features but an instant tent with the same height across the tent?

Samantha great information on tents and there uses. As an older camper 56 my wife and I like our

is there a dome-tent on the market that’s easy to get into and out of like the cabin tents? this would be for 2 people at most.

I just found your channel while looking at tents and I’m glad I did. Great information and I appreciate you showing the set up especially being a short woman myself.

The last time I was in a tent was during my Military years in the mid to late 80s. I ordered a pop-up 3-4 person tent from Amazon that’s coming Friday. I live in Pittsburgh, and I’ve been feeding Squirrels in my area for 24 months so far. I just want to use it during the daytime to hang out with them in their area for a couple of hours. Thanks for the informative video! BTW, you gotta new subscriber!!

Great video, how important is a ground tarp/foot print? I recently bought the Coleman 6 person instant tent and can’t determine if the ground tarp is necessary for dry weather only camping.

  43. Chelsea B on June 13, 2023 at 3:35 pm

Thank you this was very helpful! As a first timer from the desert I’ll definitely look into your recommendations. Are there any tents you would recommend for under $200?

  44. John Hixson on June 13, 2023 at 3:38 pm

Still not sure what tent would be good. I don’t want to be crawling into a tent but I want a tent that can handle wind since the grand kids and I may camp at Carlyle lake in flat Illinois. Notoriously windy.

  45. Joe Weaver on June 13, 2023 at 3:38 pm

well-produced video and good guidance but as far as dome tents go, they make domes as instant set-up now also. depending on which tent style you choose, the ease of set-up should not be a factor. all of these main styles of tents are manufactured in easy set-up varieties.

  46. Veronica R on June 13, 2023 at 3:38 pm

    Awesome reviews, thank you!

  47. Kayleigh Galletto on June 13, 2023 at 3:39 pm

This is going to sound…. Well about right for a Texan, but at the end you left Texas off! Does that mean we can just use anything down here?! I’m really thinking we’d like the cabin style best for the head room, but worried about the condensation because we can have pretty variable tents and strange weather.

  48. siiiri ously on June 13, 2023 at 3:40 pm

I watched many tent videos the last days ….This is the best at explaining the whole condensation thing understandibly. Thank you!
