This was good. I would likely try to find a used one. I think I like the transit for the options.

I like front wheel drive looking at Ram Pro Master 2500 or 3500

  5. Al Wadlan on July 16, 2021 at 3:03 am

Great video and thanks for all the details. It’s also worth mentioning that the super high top Sprinter has no roof rack option and a roof loading weight of 0kg. I.e, you can’t put anything on the roof. So, although you get the height, if you were planning on installing roof solar panels, the super high top roof isn’t really an option. I don’t know if this is the case with any other brands and makes of super high top roof vans, but it’s definitely something to bear in mind!

Brother what is better motor for pro master you got? the 3500, 2500 or 1500 and which motor is better 3.6 or 3.0 ? did I ask too much? sorry

  8. Deborah Schaub on July 16, 2021 at 3:05 am

Thank you Trent…… I’ve binge watched all your videos i think and LOVE watching you and Allie build out your house. I was considering a STO MODE 4×4 BEAST AND now……….. NOT. !!!! I know that Hymer went out of business and purchased by an overseas company. They’re now back..AND I’d love to have the HYMER ACTIVE unless there’s something out there better. Would definitely get it lifted as it’s 1k an inch. Ground clearance is nice to have. So glad i watched this. Definitely going to stay with Dodge ProMaster. Can’t wait to watch your newest video in the morning !! :). Blessings, Deb in the Orlando Florida area

Hey Trent, between your Monday & Friday house building episodes, I’ve been reviewing your van videos. One question I’ve never heard being addressed, is, after buying a new Promaster, when you start to build out the inside, is there anything a ‘normal’ build would include that might VOID the manufacturer’s warranty? Any cautions to be aware of?

  10. 3thRock VanLife on July 16, 2021 at 3:09 am

I bought a new 2018 ram promaster 2500 and started to convert it to camper van and the reason i got the promaster is exactly the reasons you mention.
I looked at all the pros and cons of all of the vans and to me promaster was the winner its not perfect but it fits my needs.
Great video like always but miss Allie.
    Take Care

Which van is right for me? The answer is the one I can afford.

  18. mrgcav on July 16, 2021 at 3:20 am

Nice but you need pictures and diagrams in your video.

  19. Robert Covone on July 16, 2021 at 3:21 am

Your video was Sincerely EXCELLENT!!! I really enjoyed it. You have educated me and have given me the tools that I need to make my decision. Although your video is about vans in 2019, I actually am interested in buying a 2022 Ram Promaster so hopefully if there were any van issues with the 2019’s, they should all be ironed out by 2022. What do you think? Anyway PLEASE keep making those videos of yours. You got me hooked.
    – Robert Covone – Naugatuck, Connecticut.
P.S. By the way… I only will buy NEW. I want a FULL Warranty. I will NEVER buy used.

  21. misha frog on July 16, 2021 at 3:22 am

something incorrect on your internal heights of the high sprinter you say 6ft 3 yet put a ford / sprinter side by side the sprinter is taller in body height , here in the Uk the ford is only 2litre engine so not so popular plus they have a bad rust reputation bit like measles, whilst the sprinter used to have a rust problem but they seemed to have cured that now engines you have more choices but like in the states repairs are costly at main dealers so its handy if your good with spanners to save on costs the whole purchase prices on the road here in the UK discounts are easy to obtain on instock vans & ford is allways priced cheaper of the two, another thing I have noticed is derv is king on the vans petrol/gas is very rare

  22. Steve Lenores on July 16, 2021 at 3:23 am

Can’t you drive to dry weather. Why stay where it is raining?

  23. Steven Yellow on July 16, 2021 at 3:24 am

You completely right…I pick promaster over any Vans …the worst RV Van is Mercedes sprinter …over price not many places have diesel the van too skinny no room to sleep sideways and unstable drive on freeway with windy day …easy break down and expensive to maintain…people just pay for the logo and fancy look inside

  24. Sanne Vos on July 16, 2021 at 3:26 am

Inches yea in europe i dont understand that shit xD now i had to look up on the internet every time "How much cm/m is … Inches xD” was a bit of a pain but the video was very helpfull.

  25. Michael Was on July 16, 2021 at 3:28 am

Only thing I dont like is the rear axle sits really low .

  26. Jeston Sun on July 16, 2021 at 3:28 am

  27. nachowithan.a on July 16, 2021 at 3:30 am

holy shit! I’ve been looking for a Ram Promaster, but all this time I was supposed to be looking for a Fiat Ducato. Thank you so much!

  28. Gregory Eastwood on July 16, 2021 at 3:31 am

  30. Darren Bullman on July 16, 2021 at 3:32 am

thanks for video, you deserved a drink lol Hmmm would like the 4×4 option though hear you on the Sprinter parts and issues , hmmm , can you get the Fiat ducato converted to four wheel drive or not ? If so is it expensive ….

  31. Shelly CanCan on July 16, 2021 at 3:33 am

Very, very informative. I’m 6ft 2 and I think the high roof Promaster might suit me.

  32. Tortis on July 16, 2021 at 3:36 am

Which van is best if you want an off road van that can go in alot of places and has good gas mileage

A usual Trent; thanks again for sharing your wisdom; appreciate all your help.

  34. ALI PUSH on July 16, 2021 at 3:38 am

15:10–15:32 Nailed it for me. No one talks about the possible “tipping-over” aspect🙄. He mentioned off-roading – but I’m thinking storms and high winds too. Thanks for putting that in!!

  35. K AD on July 16, 2021 at 3:38 am

YOUR SPOT ON ABOUT THE SPRINTER! FORD, NO WAY! IMO… PROMASTER MY FIRST CHOICE. MAKES SENSE!

  42. Tom Carter on July 16, 2021 at 3:47 am

Vans are expensive/complicated houses are expensive/complicated. Until public schools start a worthwhile agenda, pretty much every concept of adult life is out of easy grasp.

  43. Paula Wagner on July 16, 2021 at 3:50 am

Thanks for this video. I was leaning toward the Sprinter until you spoke of all the issues with them. My first need is reliability. I hate non stop issues eating up my time for enjoyment.

  44. Samuel Schlegel on July 16, 2021 at 3:51 am

So is there a clutch on the promaster?

  45. Eduardo Barbosa on July 16, 2021 at 3:52 am

Kind of funny that sometimes when you live in a different part of the world, things can change substantially: in Brazil, Sprinters and Ducatos are the most common vans sold, and we have no shortage of mechanics who can work on them. The Fiat and the Mercedes engines are the ones which got the most parts available in the market for them, but you will have trouble finding parts for any Chrysler V6s…

Bottom line: depending on the part of the world you live in, a Sprinter may be the best option.

  46. Joan Smith on July 16, 2021 at 3:52 am

Thank you for all this information in a comprehensive comparable format. Do you have any opinion on the dual wheel option?

  47. Ricky Cassidy on July 16, 2021 at 3:54 am
