Why I Chose A Class B VAN πŸš™ Full Time RV LIVING in a Winnebago TRAVATO 59KL

In today’s travel vlog, I discuss why i chose a class b van for full time RV living in a Winnebago Travato.

I’ve had my RV two weeks and and released two videos:

1 – RV NEWBIE First 48 Hours of RV Living in a Winnebago Travato πŸš™ 1st BLACK TANK Dump! https://youtu.be/HGkAKaTwkAk
2 – Tour of My Winnebago TRAVATO 59KL National Park Edition πŸš™ Class B CAMPER VAN Tour

These videos RV living, van life videos have done pretty well so far. I never realized how many people would be interesting in my RV life in a Winnebago Travato campervan. It’s been awesome to see s many interested in my tiny house on whees. h

I answer a bunch of different questions in this video about RV living in a van including:

Why I chose a class b van?
Why I chose the Winnebago Travato 59KL National Park Edition?
How much my RV cost and what other versions of the Travato cost.
Where will I be going RV camping in. the future?
What is the Volta Power System? Do I like Volta, Would I recommend Volta.

I picked up my Winnebago Travato 59KL National Park Edition 2 weeks ago and have been making this van life dream camper into my tiny home on wheels. I bought this campervan with full time RV living in mind. I have been fascinated with the RV lifestyle and the tiny home movement for a while. I’ve been a minimalist for the last 5 years and began living in nothing but studio apartments a few years ago. So the transition into the RV life in the Winnebago Travato has been pretty easy.

Even though it is a tiny home on wheels this RV has plenty of storage space. I’m a bit spoiled with all the upgrades that the Winnebago Travato 59KL National Park Edition class b van comes with. I am still preparing for life on the road and the quote/unqoute vanlife RV living, RV lifestyle! But it’s been a ton a fun.

Let me know what you think of my RV – the Winnebago Travato 59KL National Park edition class b van! I am excited about sharing my experience with the RV living and van life communities and learning all the RV tips and tricks from more experienced RV living and van life veterans!

Wish you would go over how to get your best deal. I’m terrified of paying too much. I’m a procrastinator so I may wait for the new crop next year.

As others have already said "Thank you for your service". I was wondering what website you were scanning showing the new and used RV’s. Also how do you know how much to negotiate off of these? I saw a youtube video where they were at a RV show and they were
showing $20K-60K discounts signs on some of the class B’s there. Do most people pay list
price at the dealers or are there websites showing what you should pay (like TrueCar, Edmunds, etc with cars). Enjoy your new RV…it is a beauty.

Career navy guy myself here brother! So, what’s to prevent one from purchasing the non lithium editions used and upgrading to lithium? For 30-40k less, it seems like an attractive alternative.

  14. Beverly Anderson on January 27, 2021 at 10:04 pm

We’ve got a 2014 Navion 24 J which is really sweet and roomy and great for grandkids. BUT when I saw the Travota, I fell in love with it for all the reasons you stated. Couldn’t convince my husband to downsize, so when I needed to get a new commuter vehicle, I chose a Nissan NV 200 conversion van! Now I can go on my own totally stealthy!

  19. Justin Case on January 27, 2021 at 10:06 pm

Big big thumbs up Bro! Just subscribed to your channel when I noticed that you own a loaded 59KL. I too have done a ton of research from the super expensive XP 400k vehicles to mid 160k priced to the bottom rung of 50k pre finished new units. Other than the Hymer Vista Venture 4×4, which is totally sublime, I really liked the European 4×4 Ducato with the dual beds. Which Winnebago copied for an American version- Travato, minus the 4×4 package. Still, it is, the Alpha floor plan for us Bachelors & I always could have It tricked out later on with a 4×4 lift kit.

  20. ladybassguitarplayer on January 27, 2021 at 10:07 pm

I was actually surprised. I thought it would have cost more. That’s not bad at all.

  21. Karol Smith on January 27, 2021 at 10:08 pm

I like your choice. I would also choose the same options! You have a beautiful home .

  22. David Mansfield on January 27, 2021 at 10:09 pm

I still don’t understand why class B costs more typically than a C and a even some class A. Is it because of the current popularity of the class B? For my needs, a class B is perfect and the floor plan you have is the one I am leaning towards. I’m an avid cyclist and want something to run off in on weekends and take to races.

  23. Fattie on January 27, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Should of got a small 24 foot class c/B+

  25. Pinchshot on January 27, 2021 at 10:13 pm

How much do these things depreciate? Wouldn’t it be better to rent?

  26. lisa on January 27, 2021 at 10:14 pm

I actually think the price isn’t so bad everything is built in already. I personally couldn’t build myself not gifted with that talent at all either, would have to hire someone. The cost would probably be more or about the same with cost of van, supplies, controls and labor.

  27. Linda Valiquette on January 27, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Kevin, I know you travel a lot of National Park roads that are dirt or gravel. So how do you feel about not having a spare tire? Are the rugged tires of the NPE less likely to go flat under those conditions? I am primarily interest in seeing the parks — National and State — not as much of an urban woman myself for my bucket list. I already learned from one of your previous videos that I want a 3" lift but the spare tire is a challenge! If I get the swing model I blocks the rear door emergency exit unless you leave it out. Some folks are modifying the bike rack but then the hinges need reinforcement. If you can get the straight scoop on this dilemma I would love an answer.

  28. Joseph Foley on January 27, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Cool video. In law school right now. I’d like to live on the road and also do attorney work. I wonder if that’s possible or naturally conflicting? I have diesel sprinter that’s getting some work done at the moment. Haven’t decided on the interior yet. 🀠🀘

  29. Ian on January 27, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Its s nice factory made van. Personally, I would buy an empty shell for around $40-$50K and have it converted to my design for $30K or less.

  30. mic wang on January 27, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Do you think it’s possible for a family of 4 to have a rv like this?

  31. Hendrick Perry on January 27, 2021 at 10:18 pm

Dude I like your style about to retire from the USAF, and want to rv so bad.

I’m selling my guesthouse in the Caribbean and buying one of these to travel and see family in the states. I appreciate these videos to help me decide what to buy.

  34. Joe S on January 27, 2021 at 10:22 pm

Buddy, show the Van. That is why we are watching not to hear you going on and on for over 11 minutes. Get it together or you will end up with zero followers.

  35. Veronica Jr. Lockyer on January 27, 2021 at 10:24 pm

Hi! I love the responses to questions! We ‘chatted’ previously about women traveling alone. I am currently looking at using a retired ambulance for my research travel living. I too am minimalistic except for my travel, film, activity equipment, and do not require luxury. Instead, I prefer utility and safety as I will be traveling into remote regions of Canada. What do you think about the ambulance as a travel vehicle instead of a van?

  41. John Adamson on January 27, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Kevin I have been looking at your exact model at a dealer for about 138,000. I am also looking at a Tellaro LT without lithium for 92,000. I am not a big camper yet and would be using it for day trips and occasional weekend trips. Any thoughts on which way I should go?

  42. Candycane on January 27, 2021 at 10:29 pm

I grew up watching Rick Steves on public television. I was hooked at an early age!
