why can’t I find Nomad telecom anywhere? i am really needing to change the Rogers infinite. It’s not enough for my wifi needs either.

You need to get a Swedish ”Kabe”🚐
    – it will keep you warm and cosy no matter what. But of course , it’s not a van but a camper. https://www.kabe.se/se/husbilar/?https://www.kabe.se/se/husvagnar/&gclid=Cj0KCQjwreT8BRDTARIsAJLI0KICMFJj6nox2QB0XOHHIYnuHRgHJa4jwuVnx_c-Zu8duEf8HhKtL4gaAjQjEALw_wcB 😝
Also, Marie – where’s your sweater/jacket from? So lovely!

Yes the French lesson is the best thing ever! Now here’s some information for you: there is no such thing as wireless fidelity. Wi-Fi was named that because it does rhyme with hi-fi which is high fidelity but Wi-Fi has nothing to do with fidelity. It is literally just what someone named it for fun. It is just a way to refer to wireless connectivity.

In the States, I use Tmobile with unlimited 4G LTE phone data but only a 3g hotspot unless I pay extra; even then it’s limited to 20gb/month. I found an app/program called PdaNet+ that turns your phone into a hotspot but hides the fact that you’re using your phones 4G LTE with the hotspot. I use about 300gb/month with no issue and great speed on my laptop. It’s definitely in a gray area, so don’t tell your provider.

  15. Lil H on January 8, 2022 at 2:33 pm

Oh thank god you’re still doing videos! Thanks for the tips!! I’m headed out this weekend to start my full time journey on a budget so I’ll start with the hotspot and graduate to the weeeee boost one day soon I hope! 😍🌈💜💚🌻🧡

Hilarius .. and informative .. and very entertaining .. 🤗

  17. Sebastian on January 8, 2022 at 2:38 pm

You can keep a mobile modem plugged in the van same as you would a fixed one. This can’t be an argument.

I like Marie’s concise presentation. Very clear, straight to the point.

  22. Trevor Ford on January 8, 2022 at 2:41 pm

I’ve just started using 100GB of data and pay £34 a month for that, I was particularly interested in hearing how you use your data as I was worried about running out of data myself, after hearing how you use it it was a load of my mind.

It seems that as in this video ‘WiFi’ has become a container word for everything that you want to do with a device online:)

  26. Donna S on January 8, 2022 at 2:42 pm

So glad to see a new video today. Yes, i was one of those worried we wouldn’t see you for awhile. Great info.
    How has the transition been?

I love all the graphics and attention to details you guys have done! I know it’s a ton of work to make a high quality video like this, and I truly appreciate the numerous hours of work this must have taken! 🙌 Thank you!!

If you think Wi-Fi is expensive in Canada, you’d bê horrified if you knew how much we pay here in Brazil.
And the Portuguese lesson “Qual é a senha do Wi-Fi?”

  30. Bambi Cox on January 8, 2022 at 2:53 pm

Luv watching you too, makes feel like part of the family. Since I’m a neighbouring resident in Ontario and planning a van build next summer, wondered if you had any tips for which Canadian phone companies are better for travelling across our beautiful country. I find all of them expensive ie, Rogers, Bell. Kudos to the maple syrup and Timmys shout out, what about aye……lol

  31. Karen Wojcik on January 8, 2022 at 2:54 pm

Merci beaucoup! My husband and I went camping last week and had poor wifi service. I am an artist and a graphic designer and I teach online. On the first day we got there I was able to hotspot my iPhone, but on the last three days my bars were very low, so we had no choice but to bleme it on the trees and the rain.

That being the case, we were trying to figure out if there was a way to boost our power so we can enjoy Michigan’s rugged outdoors while I work online. Your tips were very helpful, I found weBoost Drive on Amazon! Our next trip is going to be so much better! Great tutorial! Thanks!

  32. Adrienne Lawrence on January 8, 2022 at 2:54 pm

Who else enjoyed Dom’s use of 80s video game sounds? And then he took it a step further by making a beat with them. 😂 #pacMan

  33. wander for miles on January 8, 2022 at 2:55 pm

Thank you for the suggestions… I will be transitioning full time to a van towards the end of this summer so this is great information to start thinking about. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Nice video and very useful info! I’m always wondering how vanlifers who travel between for instance EU countries handle the phone and internet issue. Do you have any idea?

  35. Alan Krum on January 8, 2022 at 2:57 pm

I’m officially addicted to watching you two. So love the way you both interact and present things. BTW your dad’s rock too.

  36. Glenn Hinatsu on January 8, 2022 at 2:59 pm

Another Van-tastic video. Funny, fun to watch and very informative. Clear concise and full of useful information. It’s so great to have the Canadian information.

  37. MultiPJoys on January 8, 2022 at 3:00 pm

The portable modem is also called a mifi (mobile wifi) router. I have one from Tp-link (M7650) and can link to 32 devices. It’s made for traveling so it charges by usb and if you want to take it with you when you go hiking the battery will last up to 15h. So no worries about changing or batterylife. If that’s not enough juice, just charge it with a powerbank. I’m very happy with this little guy and think it’s money well spent ☺️ I have a T-Mobile unlimited data plan for this for €35,- a month.

  38. Sherry Muniz on January 8, 2022 at 3:01 pm

I’ve been binge watching your videos since I found you guys a couple of days ago…you’re great for a laugh, when I’m really overwhelmed with my job🤗🤗🤗

  39. moabiterpflanze on January 8, 2022 at 3:01 pm

I would love to have something like those nomad telecom in Germany.
I don’t have a van yet but my static internet in the center of Berlin is hell since 3 weeks. Not one zoom call possible.

  40. Maree SAMSON on January 8, 2022 at 3:02 pm

That’s so great thanks! That’s what I used for my hastily kitted out self-contained Elgrand Van in NZ, but I will need to get the signal booster. Although I am separated from it while waiting for a visa (for my partner) for NZ so in Sicily for now soaking up the very last of the warmth of the remnants of summer. I am looking forward to your session on heating… it was so cold in July in NZ, that I heated up river rocks on my propane stove to keep me warm for the few colder hours of the night (OK so not Canada cold, just KIWI cold). And I am very aware of Canada and the ridiculous price of cellular! Unjustified I think. I could not even buy a SIM for temporary use and I had to go to Winnipeg every year for a short time for work. That was a few years ago and so maybe things are better now. Great fun video! Thanks.. love the funny French.

We use a removable portable modem which is charged by the 12 battery of the motorhome. We use it in combination with a roof antenna which greatly improves 4G or 5G reception. On top of that, this solution makes it possible to capture a wifi from café/campsite and redistribute it on the interbal wifi from the van. Here is a link to the solution we bought and installed.

I just laugh and laugh- you two are so funny in my favorite goofy way! But really now, other than TH doughnuts on the way back from hockey practice (for you, your enfant, or your grandmere) how can Tim Horton and the Beibs compare to all the incredible mountains, rivers, – LAND in Canada? PEI? Whistler? The Sunshine Coast? The far North? Or the cities – Quebec or Van? Or for that matter the Dinosaur Museum near Calgary? And what about the incroyable Native Peoples? Such intelligent stewards of culture, medicines, history, land, and small museums… yes, we lived up there with you for awhile🙂💕. It is a little cold and dark from Jan to March- but we miss you all and ALWAYS say hello to the Canadian Geese when they fly by.. “see you at home soon, eh?”

  43. Lily Mae on January 8, 2022 at 3:04 pm

OMG love the Canadian wifi explanation followed by the tribute!!! 🤣😂🤪🤣🇨🇦🍿🇨🇦. Love you two🌸

  44. konor on January 8, 2022 at 3:05 pm

One of good sides of living in Russia – you can get unlimited LTE for $4-5 per month without roaming. One more option – jump to latest iPad with Cellular and simply put Sim card into device.

  45. george cole on January 8, 2022 at 3:05 pm

How do we find your music to download?? Love it , want to listen to it on the road traveling with our RV ???

  46. Magdalena Mayr on January 8, 2022 at 3:06 pm

this was soooo useful!! I’m leaving in my van in 2 weeks and just freaked out a little because I had NO idea how to manage wifi on the road. Thanks guys1!

  47. Amy Hrebien on January 8, 2022 at 3:07 pm

Love watching your videos. The highlight of my Sunday! You should do a video about other Canadian things like poutine!

  48. blessedveteran on January 8, 2022 at 3:07 pm

Omg..I too thought you two were gone. I was so stoked when I got the alert!!😁

  49. Aszul on January 8, 2022 at 3:09 pm

Now I keep hearing that MIMO antennas are better than wifi extenders.

  50. george borisovskiy on January 8, 2022 at 3:10 pm

haha, you guys are hilarious and I love how informative and structured video was. so one of the best cost effective solutions would be just to use the phone signal and boost if necessary?
