VANLIFE WiFi – How I play COD Warzone in my Van Home and watch Netflix anywhere. Internet!!!! It took a lot of research to find out how to get internet and start gaming again while living in a van, but the Mofi Router is well worth it.

I’m a 23 year old Marine Corps veteran, and after returning from Syria with the YPG, I made the decision to self convert my own Cargo Van. It took 4 months and $6,000 to convert, but I managed to make it fit ALL my needs perfectly.

Thank you SOOOO much for watching, and best of luck to any future vandwellers looking for a new path in life!

so the way I see it, using a weboost plus this router would be the best combo right? because weboost rv the new ones can amplify that cell tower signal inside van, then this router would detect that stronger signal and boost it. I have tmobile but it sucks compared to verizon so I’ll probably keep my phone plan and just get a sim card for verizon to put in the router

You can play Xbox on Solar and battery power ?

  3. kiy ellis on July 11, 2021 at 2:51 am

Dude if you have unlimited data then just hotspot from your phone

  4. SkIzZoL on July 11, 2021 at 2:52 am

Hey I know you have AT&T but, T-Mobile offers another type of connection through their DIGITS. Meaning you have your phone and sim card and you get another sim card that is connected directly to T-mobile through their DIGITS but that sim card is a copy of your original that is in your phone, and you can keep that sim card in your router and your original in your phone. Plus, that second sim card when connected to another phone will forward ALL calls, texts, and services to your second phone and you only pay one plan. Another bonus is you can have a conversation on your main phone and have another conversation on your second phone both using your 1 phone number. Just giving your another option, stay safe.

I like the router ..A lot of people say they b going “Stealth” mode in a van but it’s easy to tell ur living in a van if I can see solar panels & a fan on a roof. I want to make my van discrete as possible so ima go with the router option for the internet.

  8. Evan Landry on July 11, 2021 at 2:55 am

How do you make money? I’ve been thinking of getting a van when I become 18 but I need to think of a job for the road.

  9. Jacqualynn Bender on July 11, 2021 at 2:56 am

Can you use your phone at the same time tho?

  10. Nessa Mae on July 11, 2021 at 2:57 am

so you can use ethernet cable to a computer to use the internet too?

  11. Justas Ežerskis on July 11, 2021 at 2:57 am

In Germany we use Teltonika Networks industrial routers for Van’s wifi and internet speed applications. Speeds ramp up to 400 mb/s. Highly recommend to test it out. Works great. Mostly we use RUTX11 https://teltonika-networks.com/product/rutx11/ or RUT955 https://teltonika-networks.com/product/rut955/ as they have SIM failovers and Load Balancing features. And the cost is even lower than 299 😉

  15. Emily Hastings on July 11, 2021 at 3:01 am

Hey friend! Do you think two people could game on this connection at the same time? Or would you need two separate routers? Thanks so much for making this video!

Aye bro add me on Warzone @RememberSonic I’m on Xbox yo let’s run it!

  17. Milo- on July 11, 2021 at 3:03 am

Unlimited data isn’t unlimited data unfortunately😂 the damn fair use policies keeps us from downloading large files. I’d recommend an router that can connect with wifi nearby as well for that.

  18. Marlene Wagner on July 11, 2021 at 3:04 am

This may be a stupid question but I must ask; I don’t have a SIM card, I have AT & T and an iPhone, how does this work for me?

  19. Ryan Ortiz on July 11, 2021 at 3:06 am

Sup Jarine, friendly vanlife squid here. Does you plan (simcard) have unlimited “hotspot” or just unlimited data? ATT has only 30gigs of “hotspot” on their plans but they do have unlimited data. This is an important distraction. Im needing wifi for school so I can get smarter!

  20. Joseph BlackWood on July 11, 2021 at 3:10 am

Awesome!!! Reasonably priced also… I need this for Netflix lol. I aim to live more hiking where ever I want and stuff. But it is nice to settle down to play a game or watch something like you mentioned.

  21. Sleepy Ghost on July 11, 2021 at 3:14 am

Question so how do you get to use your phone and call people

  22. Ryan Sulak on July 11, 2021 at 3:15 am

can you please detail what plan you have with ATT?
Are you allowed to take their sim card out and use it in the MOFI or is it a workaround? I don’t want to get banned from using their service.
Also, do you need to park near a Walmart? Or can it just pick up a cellphone signal strong enough from wherever you are?
    Thanks

Nat type strict means that if try to nat type a session on certain games to get rid of players it won’t do it

  26. David Borden on July 11, 2021 at 3:22 am

I’ve heard if you have a prepaid plan that ATT or whoever will block the MoFi. Instead you need a postpaid plan, and preferably a tablet SIM added to the plan for 20$ a month. People use those instead and have no problem. Sorry I forget if this was mentioned in the video but my plan was to get a MoFi until someone on reddit informed me of this.

  27. Chase on July 11, 2021 at 3:22 am

Can you connect your phone to the WiFi too so you can still receive texts/calls?

  28. ShadowDome102 on July 11, 2021 at 3:22 am

Just wait till SpaceX Starlink, I really like you Van man it’s cool!

  29. Ralf Pfeiffer on July 11, 2021 at 3:23 am

This was awesome! Thanks for the tip. I am starting a van build, and I want gaming speeds. I also have kids, who love games. After a day of hiking, or virtual school, they look forward to an hour of gaming. We have an XBOX, and we’ll have it in the Van, but the kids also play Minecraft and other games on their gaming laptops.

Btw, the MOFI router is unavailable right now on Amazon – I just checked.

I will wait and see, as my build will likely take me 2 months if I spend 8 hours every day.

I’m a Dad, but I want fast internet for my kids and myself. Thanks, I love your channel and content!

  33. skud on July 11, 2021 at 3:28 am

very helpful, seems like the only viable option outside of just tethering everything to an unlimited hotspot plan on a phone(i’ve only seen visible even offer that). super simple, albeit a bit pricey solution. Definitely worth it.

So why do this over a jetpack mifi or nighthawk m1? (Genuinely asking!)

Years ago I had a rooted htc evo 4g with Sprint unlimited plan and they couldn’t tell I was using the wifi hot spot and that’s how I used to play the original cod Black ops it was fast enough even back in 2010-2012 days

  38. Jamey Lynch on July 11, 2021 at 3:32 am

Hey man ! I heard you mention about wiring it in 12 volt and that you broke it. How did you break it and how did you go about doing 12v. I love your user name . Almost able to join the civ div gang 😅

  39. Sarah Nicole on July 11, 2021 at 3:32 am

Does it have to be plugged into something?

  40. Neverending Roadtrip on July 11, 2021 at 3:34 am

Acts as a hot spot. Will bog down after your GB plan is reached. Yes unlimited, but at a VERY slow speed after your GB plan runs out. Just spent an hour on the phone with Verizon…prove me wrong.

    What is your service provider?

  44. Regular Dude on July 11, 2021 at 3:37 am

Strict Nat Type is just basically a security feature that locks out certain people. It makes multiplayer extremely difficult to play, and having an open nat type is usually considered best for online gaming.
