WINTER RV CAMPING: THE ULTIMATE (HOW TO) GUIDE
WINTER RV CAMPING: THE ULTIMATE (HOW TO) GUIDE
๐ฅ Winter RV camping can be a lot of funโฆ as long as you have running water and you donโt freeze in your RV. This video is the Ultimate RV Winter Camping Guide to help you prepare your rig for the cold weather. As we mentioned in video, we quickly learned that moving every 3-4 days in cold weather was fatiguing. The setup & teardown process is longer and often too cold to use our water hose. So we changed our plans and booked 12 days at Tiger Run Resort http://bit.ly/tiger-run-resort in Breckenridge, CO. This is an exceptional RV Resort where you can rent or buy your own site minutes from downtown Breckenridge and close to Vail Resorts and all your favorite winter activities.

Put a zip lock freezer bag over your 3 to 1 electrical cord adapter exposed connections, secured with electrical tape (zip facing down), to keep moister from entering the plug/receptacle and tripping the GFI on the RV pedestal.
Looks like Tiger Run.
Why would you not just keep your tanks open and then you wonโt have to worry about freezing?
You guys are awesome narrators!
Where can i buy the skirt
Just bought our RV to finally fulfill our dreams of northern snow filled fun, only to recently "learn" (while attempting to make reservations) there aren’t campgrounds with sewage and water from Nov-March but it seems Tiger run has has both? Very new at this, so just wanting to confirm… Is this so? Does Tiger run offer sewage and water in the winter months? If so, are they the only campground that offer sewer and water? Fingers crossed our dreams will come true after all! We are from Louisiana and have no winter-ing RV knowledge. Thank you! ๐
your temp sensor needs an alarm capability too..
What ๐ car do you drive? With the cool ceiling :"0
I have been trying to find the video you did when changing rigs where you mentioned something that goes under your mattress to help it breathe.
.I cant find it, can you point me in the right direction?
You two are crazy!! We live in Alberta, rv in BC, let me tell you how cold spring & fall are here!! The one item that saves me? my electric blanket that I put over me while watching TV!! Also, electric blanket for our bed!! Happy camping!!
Where did you get a HOT Bulb?
I recently purchased a new RV a 2800bh imagine. To my dismay I found out that the Arctic ready did not mean that we could camp in the Arctic. I am having tank heaters installed and I am looking at the EZ-Snap system. The lesson for all is ask alot of questions before you buy.
You should buy a arctic fox or outdoors RV made by the same people there 4 season heated underbelly and another suggestion is donโt camp in the winter
What type of tape do you recommend.
Blue rhino wants to speak with you lol
Is your RV a 4 season type?
Any kind of lock nut over that wing nut on the propane tank holder?
For those that think this is commercial… these are the products we found helpful for camping in the winter. We are not paid from these companies. You CAN winter camp without buying products, but it will not likely resemble a normal RVing experience. i.e. Water turned off or covering the windows is not how we enjoy living in our RV. These products help us live as normal as possible. For those that travel like us and are not appose buying products to make your experience easier, we hope you found this helpful.
Rig…. rig rig rig… your rig. The rig. This is our rig. Itโs a rig…. in the rig…………. we made riggies in our rig. Is that a fig in the RIG? Donโt stop too hard. Donโt want to get the rig to dig. I keep a welder in my rig. Itโs a tig. Itโs kind of big inside this rig. Rig.
Yes you are paid from these companyโs. Youโd have to be a idiot to believe otherwise.
Or i am just being a polar caravan which is made for temps in the negative….
Thank you so much for this video!! We may need to full time RV in Ontario, Canada and I’ve been super nervous! This was great information ๐
Being full time, how do you get your mail? ?
New to your channel and a great video too. I am going to keep all of this in mind when we go winter camping. I am a NEWBIE at the TT life. My question is when we were out dry camping for 6 days our thermostat kept saying low and no heat coming out of the vents at around 2 am. But when we hook up the generator to operate over night the heater comes on when it’s time to come on is what I don’t understand and how can I run the heater without the generator? any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Always stab the box your hose comes in with a large knife.
Some good tips! We are in northern Idaho with a brand new 37 foot 5th Wheel. It’s going to be home while we develop our acreage and start building a house in the spring. Winters here can be harsh. I’m already planning on some of your winter tips and just picked up a few more!
A tip to heat water lines, Run a hose to a "Y" from your heater. Pick a size 1 1/4 or 1 1/2" Then run your pex water hose inside that. Run the hose to the tank. Y off back to the inside of the camper. maybe an outside cabinet you want to heat a little. Your heater will blow air through the big hose from your heater and blow it back into the inside of the camper. Heating the hose and the camper. We do this with sump pump discharge pipes here in Chicago IL. Here are some of "my camping" meals I can share with you. โโ@6eEQ Please comment let me know what you think. The ice cream reference was LOL. Great video you guys, love your interaction together! Keep it up!
Hi! Love your videos. It’s just above freezing and I’m selling my trailer. Any thoughts on opening the slide? Too cold? And how about turning on the furnace? Any concern with that? Thanks!
Nice car, I liked and subscribed. Come visit me.๐
Thank you both..as this is going to help me so much… thank you also for the tip on the propane… Companies will find anyway to rip off consumers.. again thank you so much
I hope you can reply…what do you do with water lines inside when transporting in-between 2 destinations, in sub-freezing temperature? Otherwise, great information. I hope to camp with my trailer in winter and enjoy the slops. Thank you in advance.
Does your rig have a artic package?
You’re awesome thank you!!!
Can you guys tell me about this thermometer?! How do you get it to tell you temps from multiple points around the rig?! Thanks ๐
Nice
Dude dont leave your truck plugged in all plug it into a timer plug at least btw Canadian here. Gets cold here and my cummins very rarely gets plugged in. Good info tho. pretty much all camping closes all winter here
What did you pay for Hydro at your RV park in Winter
Great video.
As newbee full timers this will be our first winter in New England, thanks for the info! Stay warm!
I love your channel we just started weekend RV in Colorado bc we live here and aren’t ready to go fulltime YET. We watch your channel and learn sooooo much from your fantastic videos and your family of followers. Aside from the RV stuff its also refreshing to see so many happy marriages in this world so thank you for sharing that with the world which needs more role models.
Any tips or gear for driving/pulling in bad weather?
I want to use my camper for snowmobiling in northern Maine Bingham area
Great advice
The Camco heated water hose is amazing, we just use it all year now. Keep cool water cool.
Heated tape on the Park Faucet is a must. Covering the vents is clever. We lived through the TX Freeze of 2021 without the Skirt. Ordering the Skirt today! Even though we have Thermal Paine windows. I did blue painters tape the shades to the frame to prevent any infiltration loss.
You guys are adorable.
In the campsites below, until what time can the generator be on?

Great tips, thank you!! What mil is your skirting?
Here’s the toip everyone needs to know. I took out my furnace and heat my 37 camio with a diesel furnace. 130 degrees at the vents and 2/3 cheaper than propane.i was blowing threw a 30 pound tank is 3 days. No more. Diesel furnace is no smell no noise. When it hits 25 below…the diesel warms the coach well.
OMG this is just what I was looking for!!! We are building our new home and we get the joy of living on our property on Lookout Mountain, just above Denver, 7,400 ft. We have a 40′ Raptor Toy Hauler with the Extreme Weather package and I was wondering if we’d need a skirt. So much great advice in this video and in the thread of comments.
