your comment that the grout needs to be same color as tile is spot on IMHO. Laying tile length-wise in a corridor makes the corridor look narrower, I would lay the tile at 90 degrees to the wall making the corridor look wider. You need to level the floor under the tiles, but you also need to level the tiles one on the other. I use home depot levelers to avoid tile lippage.

    Nice presentation 👏

Great video and 2 more advantages.
    1. It’s easier to clean with no splinters like real wood or carpet stains.
    2. Some one who has breathing problems like Asma won’t inhale carpet dust or fine real wood floor shavings.

Who did you have install your wood look tile floors?

  5. V T on May 7, 2021 at 3:30 am

My wood look tile is very similar as yours. Do you know the name color you have on your walls? 👍🏻 I really like it.

I had to pause the video just to ask, were you okay while filmin this? Your voice was shaking and you look so tense. I don’t know if I’m misinterpreting something but in general you look really nervous.

Thank you, This was so helpful. I’m considering the wood look tile over laminate or vinyl. You made some very good points to consider. One thing you didn’t mention is the grout. Grout tends to get dirty over time and can be hard to clean. I have tan-colored grout in the kitchen and its so hard, if not impossible, to keep clean. Dose the dark brown grout get dirty or start losing color (turning grey) over time?

  19. Michael Sullivan on May 7, 2021 at 3:42 am

Yep this sold me on wood look tile. I just hope the contractors get it right the first time! Thanks girl!

I love how you explain a lot of specifics, giving examples and things of such. My husband and i are looking into removing our carpet and trying to decide what to use in place of it. I enjoyed this video. New subbie😍

Hello and thanks for the great video on this subject. My wife and I live in the Houston area in fact we live in the Cypress to be exact and we just sold our house and are moving into a newer home in March. We are interested in ripping out the old carpet at our new house and installing the wood look tile in the home but have no idea where to start so seeing your video was really great timing. Since you are located in Houston would you mind sharing with me the name of the company you used and which name brand of tile you bought since it sounds like you and your husband are like minded since we do not want to break the bank on the cost of the tile and having it installed. Also that was very informative of you to talk about the hidden cost of leveling I would’ve never have thought about that and I’m sure it would’ve come up and we would’ve had to pay more, so thank you. Anyways, if you don’t mind letting me know who you used and the manufacture of tile you used I would appreciate it.

  25. Dexter Golden on May 7, 2021 at 3:48 am

What was the cost of the title and installation?

  26. Tom Cat on May 7, 2021 at 3:50 am

I want to buy a tile like this type, but I’m afraid that the texture on the tile is going to be uncomfortable when walking. Maybe that’s why is uncomfortable for you. Do feel the same discomfort when you walk on your regular tile?

  30. logic whisky on May 7, 2021 at 3:52 am

would the tile be hard on the dog feet?

  31. Mr. Portis on May 7, 2021 at 3:55 am

Best video on the subject by FAR! Thanks. We are planning on laying this tile the week.

  32. jehumelchor on May 7, 2021 at 3:56 am

Hello, thank you for the good info and great shots of the floor, we are thinking of buying this tile. It has been like 2.5 years (I think) if I did the match right since you had it installed. How is the tile Holding? have you noticed any scratches or anything else?

  33. NoOof S on May 7, 2021 at 3:57 am

Thank you so much that helped a lot💕

  35. John Hays on May 7, 2021 at 4:04 am

Great Video, I’ve had Pergo water resistant Laminate that was ruined by dogs, I placed two types of wood look Vinyl in two separate bedrooms that got gouged and scratched, I Installed builders grade 12×12 tile in Kitchen and Baths and still looks great, these wood look tile will be good for my forever, good for pets and the Handicapped that need wheelchairs or walkers. Just have to decide if I’m still man enough and have the strength to haul this stuff around to install it myself. lol

  36. Inorite on May 7, 2021 at 4:05 am

I’m most likely going the wood-look tile route as I’m sick of having to replace my entire Engineered cherry floors every 7-10 years. (water damage….just bad luck) I want something that can be hosed off if my upstairs neighbor decides to leave his hotub filling for a week and floods my unit ever again.

  37. Inorite on May 7, 2021 at 4:09 am

    I appreciate the good information.

  38. Joe Lawrence on May 7, 2021 at 4:09 am

as we will walk on these tiles daily, does the color or shade get fade of little of that particular path or it will look same like first day

  44. Kels Blanca on May 7, 2021 at 4:16 am

Very informative. I just moved to Houston and am having a home built and plan on having the builder grade carpet and tile removed once the house is finished and wood look tile installed everywhere except the bedrooms. I think I’ve found the tile, but I’m looking for an installer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Good video.

  45. agnes williams on May 7, 2021 at 4:17 am

So the tile in the kitchen not matching the wood tile looks fine. My two daughters think I should change it all to the same type but I am like u thinking of cost. I am so torn about it but I enjoyed ur video very much.
