SECOND LARGEST KOA RESORT RV CAMPGROUND IN THE US. IT'S HUGE!!
SECOND LARGEST KOA RESORT RV CAMPGROUND IN THE US. IT'S HUGE!!
Guess which KOA RV Campground is the 2nd largest in America & Canada? AND it’s situated in the Black Hills National Forest of South Dakota.
Have you guessed yet? It’s near Mount Rushmore National Monument! We’ve actually been traveling to this KOA at Palmer Gulch for several years now. It’s a favorite for everyone because you can stay in the lodge (think like a hotel), bunk up in a cabin, use a full hook up RV site or snag a tent site. This KOA resort has something for everyone! Definitely an RV life favorite.

It looks like a RV Parking Lot. Yuck!!
Wow ! what a nice place . Love that it has so much woods . Do they have primitive camping . Oh I guess they have BEARS lol
The hub KOA in Billings is now adding a $8 recreation resort fee to their already pricey $70 with no sewer spaces. They need to ask the failing Las Vegas hotels how that’s working out for them, now. I have stayed in many and hate to see the greed, ruin a good thing.
Hi..I am planning my first time RV trip with my family during Christmas time. We are in Houston so we are looking to see some snow and ski ⛷️… Any recommendations close to Colorado or any other location? I am thinking o a RV Trailer to be delivered to the camp.
Thanks all ..
Looks like tons of fun for all!
Thanks for the Superman footage!
i stayed here with my family when i was a kid ! some of my favorite childhood memories were made here 🙂 thank you for sharing !! <3
Thank You for the review.
We were just through there… small world… great video!!!
Hello! Me and my family love going on camping trips with our 40 foot RV, and we have been to over 22 states so far…We have been to the very first koa ever made in the us, and largest, the one in this video, and even the highest in elevation which is the Cripple Creek koa at over 10,000 feet in elevation…It really is a fun thing to do! We’ve been to lots of other amazing tourist attractions such as Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, and the Grand Ole Opry…
Stated there a few years ago! Can’t wait to get back!
Sadly we were only able to drive through the Black Hills, but hope to get back soon and actually spend a solid chunk of time exploring. Will definitely check out this resort! I’m sold as long as there are water slides!! Mount Rushmore KOA looks so fun!
We stayed at several KOA across the USA this summer! We love that they all have dog parks!
So much fun!
Oh I forgot to mention, this video is great because you’re the first family I’ve ever seen cook and you’re showing your viewers the camp ground. It’s like I’m there with you. Thanks
Awesome video! I think I need to visit that KOA.
Your charging center for electronics / phone / etc., looks a lot like mine – "stuff everywhere"
I spotted a KYD shirt too!
That’s why we got 2 toilets!!
I am going there in June with my brothers
Nice vid, but @3:40 is why I stop taking my grandkids. Hand through screen and body weight on door. And NO ONE knows how it happened.
Loved your reporting on this place. Great editing.
Iv been there!
We were highly disappointed with this Koa. It was packed, and everything was poorly maintained. Gross pools, peeling paint and splinters on all tables, seats, cabins. Pretty broken down when we stayed In August. Will not be going back 😔
Btw I love your family RV videos, and we have that shirt, My kids go to RCS as well 😊
wwwwwwwwwoooooooooww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed there a couple of years ago, it was awesome!! We’ll definitely stay there again.
Great video. I did notice however that it looks like the campground is kind of in a state of disrepair.
Great video 🙂
Wow that is indeed a large place right there. We have stayed at many KOA’s, they need larger spaces but other than that they are pretty solid. ~Bradley
this is so neat! I’m glad I found your video before we take a trip this summer!! I can’t wait to check out this KOA, even if it’s for a day!! Happy Camping (I camp in my Nissan Leaf) ⛺️🔌🚗
This place is YUUUGE!
Great video! These are amazing shots! Did one of yall go to film school or something haha
Such an awesome video, loved the ending part with the “all together” music as well 🙂 We love KOA’s and will have to check this one out! We also want to check out the first KOA in Billings Mt too.
What is KOA?
Wow this park is huge. That’s a lot of RVs. Thanks for sharing.
W.e stayed at lots of parks in Canada , the best one in Ontario is THunder BAy KOA.. No 1 in my book….Tell them Ben sent you.
Very cool video. That area is on our list to do soon and that KOA looks amazing. Thank you for sharing it!
Loved seeing South Dakota’s black hills for those of us that haven’t been up that way. That KOA seems to have it All!
Loved the Black Hills but don’t have an RV. Looks like a good time, though
Great job!
So what’s the largest one
Bummer I was wrong lol
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well hello there. I love you channel and yes I’ve subscribed. I’ve never been RVing but I’ve ALWAYS wanted to. I’ve been doing a ton of research (still not sure what a KOA is). Seems like the more I know the more questions I have. I wanted a class A then I thought a 5th wheel would be better in case my RV broke down. Recently I saw a few videos on a Super Class C and I’m sold. As a person of color, are there places I should avoid? I’m sad to even have to ask that question. Also, do all campers inevitably host mice? Yuck 😁
this is really awesome. thank you for sharing
Palmer’s Gulch- We really had such high expectations but we did not enjoy it at all. This was summer 2018- staffing at campground was an issue. Some things were closed or the wait time was awful. The walk to the bathrooms from tour cabin was treacherous (especially when you have to pee in the middle of the night). The "all you can eat pancake breakfast" ran out of pancakes by 8 am. The horses looked miserable. It was so crowded and just not a great experience. We went to Custer KOA summer 2021 and had an amazing time. Smaller campground (and much more reasonable cost). Not as many "frills" but we had an amazing time and our experience was all around so much better.
